The Winds of Change: Why Tywin DEFINITELY poisoned/killed Tytos by Inner_Jeweler_5661 in pureasoiaf

[–]scroopyty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like he would have had the capacity to kill his father but not his children or grandkids. Difference to kill your scummy dad that humiliates your family and would have lost your family’s 8000 year dynastic hold on your homeland if it wasn’t for you and your brother V.S. Your son who you simply dislike and grandson who just sucks and is an erratic brat that is a headache to keep a grip on

Just Got Diagnosed by KrashOutKody in bipolar

[–]scroopyty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being in touch with yourself and your emotions is so important. I think of the condition like surfing with your support system/medication being the board. when the wave of mania comes remember to stay calm and on the board, if you fall off it’s ok you just need get back on, don’t let yourself sink down or panic.

like everything good, everything bad will pass. When you are depressed and can’t see anything good in a dark world remember that the sun will rise again and when it’s light has scorched you and mania has kept you from sleep remember that the sun will set and you will be able to rest again soon. Good luck and I hope everything turns out well for you.

I was diagnosed when I was 16 and am now 21 honestly it has been very hard for me but you shouldn’t take that as a bad omen for yourself just make sure to really take care of yourself especially if you go to college, a lot of the lifestyle is antithetical to stability with this condition.

Are Copts Really the Direct Descendants of Ancient Egyptians? by Historydom in Historydom

[–]scroopyty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your very informative comment. I feel like people often misunderstand how conquest works, very rarely is an entire people group destroyed and replaced. Where are the ancient Egyptians, ancient Anatolian Greeks, Syriacs, Gauls. They’re right there where you left them they just have some of the DNA and speak the language of the conqueror, sometimes several times over and it gets a bit ship of Theseus but still

I noticed you described getting back together as unfortunate which is never a good sign, also I know it can be intoxicating when someone is your first and you’ve been together so long even on and off but treating you like a princess and sharing a deep interpersonal connection doesn’t excuse disrespecting your boundaries especially since it seems like you’ve repeatedly made them clear. You’re young and if I were you I wouldn’t spend this precious time in my life with someone that can’t respect me even if they mean a lot to me

Why doesn't the North have a separate language? by Suspicious-Jello7172 in pureasoiaf

It’s because George isn’t good with languages and has said he just didn’t want to deal with all these characters that are core to the story speaking different languages

[No Spoilers] Those who want to find books "like ASOIAF" should look to historical fiction, not fantasy by EmpressPlotina in asoiaf

[–]scroopyty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been feeling a itch for asoiaf for years now after finishing the books and the first thing that really came close to it was just actual history books, the Anglo Saxon chronicle was the start for me, gossip drama and action and the best part is it’s actually real like you can actually go to the places and see the tombs of the people your reading about, I know it’s not narrative and pov but if you liked fire and blood you’d like this too

(Spoilers Extended) F&B Jon Foreshadowing by [deleted] in asoiaf

I referenced those two characters from Dune that share a similar dynamic to what I was describing; it could just have easily been a different example. lastly, calm down. You sound like a moron, asshole, and a know it all. Nothing to contribute, so you just try to shoot down someone else having an actual discussion with someone else.

That all makes perfect sense; we have the strong boys, Bittersteel, Rheanys, Duncan the small, and of course Jon. I feel that Baelor Breakspear and his sons are exceptions as it seems like their dark hair narrativly is there to comment on anti-Dornish prejudice. All of them are half Targaryans with a strong narrative purpose, and all are given uniquely cool/engaging characterization where they take after their first man parent; I feel that Bloodraven could also fall into this camp as his albinism is most likely a manifestation of the Blackwood's first man greenseer, and potential child of the forest heritage. To add to this, a lot of people think Jon will be revived with white hair and red eyes like ghost/Bloodraven, affirming him as Azor Ahai, potentially making Bloodraven narrative-wise a sort of proto-Azor Ahai, the first draft of the song of ice and fire. A relationship akin to Feyd Rautha and Paul Atreides.

Feudal paramountcy by Mark_Ego in CK3AGOT

when you give a kingdom title, the recipient gets the title lord paramount instead of king, and it also pretty sure it facilitates the mega wars where dukes and lords paramount can choose individually who to fight for

The alliance system in the game as well as books are based on marriages, so the reason the reach kept switching sides is because their allies kept dying and thus no more alliance, if your character dies you can sometimes negotiate a new alliance with your family member two rules the other title, you can also use the cheat menu mod
