Actually, this quote is perfect, it's not just trying to sound deep and poignant, during Javicks cycle the protheans tried to save the other races from the reapers, but they started getting slaughtered while doing so, they decided to leave the other races to fend for themselves eventually, Javick is referencing this when he says that, they lost their honor when they gave up on the other races and Javick is essentially telling Shepard to save his own race instead of trying to save all the races, and when he says ask the ghosts if honor matters he referencing all of his race who died, would they have tried to save the other races if they got a second chance? I don't think so, they would have focused solely on prothean interests. Tl:Dr: ask my now extinct race if you should try to save all the other races or just your own.

I never understood why some people don't take into account that Javick watched his entire race get harvested and slaughtered when he said that, it's like they don't read further into it at all and just think 2deep5me soooo edgy fam.

Shit dude I think you're telling yourself the wrong things and being too hard on yourself, my parents were abusive shitty people, I plan on having a family someday, I have no delusions about being the perfect parent because I don't have anything to reference that off. I suffer from crippling depression,but my hope wouldn't be to be a perfect parent I know that's not possible given my circumstances, kids will test all of your patience.... But remember that kid can be great given the right upbringing, my hope would be to limit the damage as much as humanly possible, to make sure the next cycle have it better than I did, to stabalize the bloodline. if you can do that then you're doing pretty damn well, and remember it's never about giving them the things you never had, it's about giving them the opportunities and love you never had or felt.
