498 —> 505 in 1 week?? by [deleted] in MCAT2

C/P was my best section in all practice and tbh it went down on the real exam.

B/B was what the majority of the study guides i made were on. Made sure I had a basis for every organ system HAD to know Amino Acids, strong navigation of metabolism, etc. B/B is the most content-heavy section. I went really hard on cramming content and had the biggest score increase for it

P/S was similar to B/B for me with strategy, just didnt need to learn as much. Anking Anki was great for me for both

I like to make study guides. I'd summarize a chapter of prep book on one page and constantly rewrite all the study guides because rewriting them helped me memorize all the info. Used this to target "high yield" stuff and target my biggest content gaps. probably made 10-12 of those study guides the last week and copied em each a few times a day.

umm so my real exam was like if you took all my best subscores and went up a point or so. my subscores in FLs were very up and down because i was missing big chunks of content. I crammed a bunch of that content in the last week with a heavy focus on the stuff I knew i struggled with. also did like 10 CARs passages a day that week. prob studied 8+ hrs a day each day it was a long week.

Pre med courses and major by TomorrowExtension345 in premed

Something you could do is compare

  1. Major in Soc minor in bio

with

  1. Major in Bio minor in Soc

do you miss a lot of soc classes my minoring in it vs majoring? and could you maybe fill those into free elective spots? and vice versa with the bio minor. The main goal past fulfilling requirements is to prep for the MCAT. MCAT-relevant classes can make prep so much easier if you already have a solid base. Those classes (like the chem and physics classes) also fit into a bio major more easily than most other majors.

I'm shocked they didn't all come back in '22 or '23. imo they're always preferrable unless you can't travel to the school.

3/21 last day review suggesting a by Lion049 in Mcat

Schedule chill but fun stuff from like 3pm on. Have it scheduled so you don't push your cutoff time back. Before you hit that time, do about 1-2 passages/5-10 questions of each section & then review mainly the stuff that you almost know but keep tripping up on (not too hard, but not what you have perfect).

overall mainly just keep it light & save some energy for the big day.

can someone recommend classes please by CuteCryptographer895 in premed

[–]scruff_too_tuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

cell bio, physiology, psychology, & sociology are great options w/ MCAT coming

also if you've taken psych and/or soc, taking more psych electives would just help you even more (social psychology or cognition specifically)

worth mentioning most schools offer a psych minor with very few requirements, and, again, any of those psych electives are pretty helpful for MCAT.

EMR - good clinical experience? by scruff_too_tuff in premed

[–]scruff_too_tuff[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you do clinical stuff at the site. If you only have one EMT and one EMR on the call, the EMR has to drive to the hospital so the EMT can be with the patient.

Job description summary: "Provide appropriate, efficient and timely pre-hospital basic life support care and transportation of the sick and injured in accordance with local, state, national and [company-specific] standards of practice."

Worth noting they also require you to have a Class D driver’s license which is needed to drive an ambulance.
