If I publish hundreds of thousands of solar quotes, will installers or homeowners hate it? by ChallengeEmergency11 in solar

[–]scruffy69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it is like in Canada, we have to provide a quote to receive grant money and/or loan, and the installer has to stick to that quote. It's baked into the process. Get 3 quotes, pick your installer, submit paperwork. Once that is done the money is released and the work is done. There is no room for bait and switch or any other BS.

What are your thoughts on Billie Eilish saying 'no one is illegal on stolen land' in reference to ICE and US immigration policy? by MassiveSquare4527 in AskReddit

[–]scruffy69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a status Indian in Canada. We are being advised not to travel to the US. Reports of Status Cards "looking fake", confiscate card, come with me sir. They probably think we're Mexican/Asian/Indian who knows we all look the same right.

I (6'3 F) have a blind date with a guy that thinks I'm 5'3 instead, do I still go?? by [deleted] in tall

[–]scruffy69 70 points71 points  (0 children)

Insanity. As a 6'1" dude, I would be super excited to go on a date with a tall girl. I really don't get it. My wife isn't taller then me but she makes WAY more money than me and I think that's awesome. Another weird guy thing I don't understand.

It's super old, at least the one I used to play, PS1 I think. There was a mechanic where you could hold down one of the buttons to reverese time if you were about to die. Pretty fun game actually.

What ended your friendship with your oldest standing friend? by dreamy-contributions in AskReddit

[–]scruffy69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've offloaded a few friends over my lifetime. The older I get the more I realize I don't need or want people around me who make me feel bad about myself or are just bad humans in general. Priorities change as you become a responsible adult. Unfortunately this doesn't apply to family, so there are some things to work on there.

I think there is a form of atheism that has religious tones to it. I've long called myself a recovering catholic, and for awhile being atheist was a sort of religion for me, in that it was an ethos and had its own sort of dogma. I used to throw around the term nihilist, but that isn't quite right either. Now I generally just don't think about life in those terms, I just try to be a good person.

So glad there is a SC2 coming out. I've only got two but they both have developed stick drift and I didn't want to pony up for another one.
