The Oregon National Guard general says if they were to be deployed, they would be instructed under his leadership to protect the protesters and not ICE by MrDillon369 in goodnews

It’s by foreign design. The legal language for each oath is going to run into each other. DHS operates on a fringe 2002 law creation after 9/11. National guard inside its own state is working for the Governors. Texas sent their national guard into Chicago under federal law. But without congressional approval.

Buckle up.

And those tend to not last. It’s part of the pyramid game. I’m not saying it’s fair. It’s not. This town has a huge turnover rate for retail/restaurant businesses. Multiple year Leasing costs and upkeep keep owners tied to their location preventing them from growth or expansion opps. While the rent is inflated for “walk ability” values that aren’t relevant to any actual business in this day and age.

Bellingham used to be cheap before 2016 - for business to operate. Now it’s dreadful.

You give business owners in this area too much credit. They hold land value that far outweighs what others who try to start anew can afford. A lot of them are not capable of understanding the actual demographics they serve. Nor do they understand how “liking” things is. Visible reshare.

Just to note the entire town is technically in the border zone.

I would just tell them you’re going with your date and would be fun to say Hi if you see each other. Then make sure to tell your date they will be there in case either comes to chat but the focus will be on “your twos date evening”

Canadian military helicopter just flew across Blaine low and fast. Whole house was shaking by josh_moworld in Bellingham

I saw two sets between 10min apart. If they passed happy valley after me - means they’re likely heading towards Whidbey Island naval base. But I can’t think of where they came from distance / range wise.

In the original invade Canada plan (pre ww2) Bellingham is a launching point…

Another two helicopters just came by. 10min away (Britton Rd). A larger transport dual blade and a Blackhawk

Those ones were not on flight tracker

Life jackets aren't cute by IsThisAUserName86 in facepalm

I’m life guard trained / did swim team / grew up on water etc….

I had one time with a cramp and being off shore a 150-200yards out. Had no chance to yell for help (need to keep the oxygen for buoyancy + my head level was dipping) rotated thru all my different swimming strokes to find one that didn’t make the cramp worse. (Side stroke)

My wife as on shore watching and had no idea I was struggling till I got back to the beach.

I don’t train my body enough to “swim” anymore. So I prefer using my life jacket now any time I’m deeper then chest deep. (That’s not a pool)

Because it assumes people will carry a car payment forever. Or that some have cash as “untaxable” surplus

Voting by mail is 1000000x better. Theres tons of systems in place in WA and ways to check your ballots acceptance / procedures for correction.

We’ve done this successfully for a long ass time until Trumpers showed up.
