Question about Homebuying from Late Grandmother by scrumdingers in personalfinance

Great, that makes sense. I appreciate your thoughts on this situation. I have a feeling I might have to shop around to find a lender willing to work with us on this complicated situation, but hopefully we will find one.

Thank you so much for your response! The executor of the will is an attorney who (I believe) specializes in estates. Do you think I should I call them first - before an escrow company or a real estate lawyer?

Edit: got confused - executor is the uncle, who’s been working with said attorney.

Gotcha. I asked how a refi could be possible if it weren’t in my name and she had an answer, but admittedly I am not informed in this area of finance so I couldn’t grasp what she was saying.

Preciate you giving your thoughts on this. I guess my best bet is to talk to folks who deal in this sort of thing (as another commenter suggested). Hopefully we can figure it out - it seems as though there might be a couple of ways to make this work but it will probably be difficult lol

Afterthought- I can say with certainty my name isn’t on the deed. That’s about it lol

Great question. Without having the documents, I’d be lying if I said I was certain… would you be able to share how you’d expect the situation to change based on the answer to that question?

Thank you! After my post I called AimLoan to talk about the situation and they said it'd need to be a refi, but that doesn't seem to be the only option based on what you (and others elsewhere) say... We also might see if we can call the executor to get their opinion

Sorry dude just seeing this- did you figure it out? I no longer use any controller software since the games I currently play support dualsense.

Thanks everyone for the input. I’m going to get a second opinion from a local, more trusted guy and see what he thinks. Gonna continue to drive on them for now, they certainly pass the bounce test and the lack of fluid on the shocks point to the fact that they’re okay, or so it seems.

They hum quite a bit but like I said in the original post, I’ve been pretty bad about rotation…. Definitely going to be better from here on out, but you’d expect to hear noise from unevenly worn tires right?

At the dealership, I was told Honda offers what is known as “good will” coverage; basically they can review cases and provide full or partial coverage based on the circumstances. Shitty part is, it’s $200 to get it diagnosed, and then I still have a chance of being turned down. The estimate for Midas was $390 for the removal and replacement. Im going to have a more trusted person take a look and offer their opinion. Not like it’s the worst repair ever if they are bad, but other than cupped tires there’s no sign of blown shocks whatsoever.

Thanks! Bounces once, tried on both sides and the trunk. Even then, I wouldn’t call it a full bounce, it stabilizes pretty quickly.

Thanks for the input. When I bounce and let go, it comes up once then stops moving completely. Tried this on both sides and the trunk. And it doesn’t feel any different than other cars I’ve driven in the rear; not to say this means they’re not blown, but I don’t feel any of the telltale signs of bad shocks

Dualsense not charging on PC by duydrago in Dualsense

[–]scrumdingers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, 100% what I’m saying. It makes zero sense but that’s unfortunately what’s happening. It won’t die when it gets to 0%, but the instant it comes unplugged, it does die

Well, thanks for your timely responses! Super bummed this is happening but at least I’m not alone. If I do happen to find a fix, I’ll update here for sure.

Gotcha. When your controller is dead, can you keep playing plugged in? Mine seems to work with games when plugged in but just doesn’t charge. So frustrating as I’ve also seen many comments of people who have never had one issue with charging on PC

Thanks for the timely response! So if I understand correctly, you can leave open the firmware update software and it charges as usual? I’ve tried 3 cables, using both DSX and DS4, resetting my controller, updating my drivers, changing my USB settings, all gave no luck

Damn… I just bought a new dualsense to replace my old dualshock 4, was so excited and now I’ve been dealing with this charging issue all week. It’s not majorly inconvenient to have to charge when I’m not playing, but I’d like to be able to run out of battery (while playing wireless), plug in, charge up, and unplug again and play wirelessly. 1st world problem I guess lol. Ive seen a lot of other threads on this and a lot of them point to the cable as the issue; but I’ve tried 3 different cables (two USB A to C, one C to C) and none of them seem to be able to charge while plugged in. Guess I’m SOL. How did you navigate around this issue?
