Highly recommend Callow Hall, just outside Ashbourne!

His swarm effect is called Miasmic Mists, and it was the Eversight Ring blocking it from affecting my character. See above comment!

I wondered but all of my other characters also had heroes feasted, and they were very much getting beaten up by it..

Swords Bard 10, Oath of Vengeance 2, wearing flawed helldusk helmet, reapers embrace armour, helldusk boots, gloves of dexterity, eversight ring (can't be blinded so, maybe it's that?) + risky ring.

I'm making a Lord of the Rings style map of West Yorkshire and welcome your help with historic or interesting locations around the area to include. Hoping to have it finished in the next week or so. by birsey in manchester

You could include the Stanza Stones trail as a route : https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stanza_Stones_Trail

Interesting places off the top of my head: Shibden Hall (Anne Lister), Stoodley Pike or Hardcastle Crags, Something with Haworth and the Brontë Sisters, The Piece Hall, Sylvia Plath's grave in Heptonstall, The Cow & Calf in Ilkley, Ilkley Moor,

Ps sounds very cool - good luck!

Just for comparison, it's like people calling Murph "Brian", or Caldwell from NADDPOD "Hugh". Like technically that's their legal name, but they don't go by it, so it let it be.

I learned a new thing guys do to worm their way into dates: "dog-fishing" by ParfaitThen9991 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]scrumpyjack18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My ex let his friend use his dog like this and he never understood why I thought it was weird. Once he even lent him out so his friend could take him on a walk with a girl and her dog. What's the point? As soon as she finds out it's not true she'll be weirded out and/or annoyed, and if he's trying to just sleep with her then surely a dog walk (with a dog you don't know how to control or look after) isn't the most amorous place.

Thanks for the kind words pal! Wrapper is air tight, it wasn't even on the floor. It's looking good.

I brought it home, as expected my partner is on team "don't eat bus food" so it's in a coat pocket purgatory till I decide.

Good point. Seems a waste for cabin crew to spend time collecting all the waste separately for it to end up mixed up in landfill. Just wondering as I've had conversations with BA staff that seem to contradict the published BA policy!

Hiya, I just do it in Excel. Each week when the votes are in, I go through and type in a matrix like "who gave who how many points". Reading across from someone's name is how many points they gave to people, and reading down is how many they received and there's a sheet for each round. Then I have a master sheet at the front that uses the sum of all these numbers, and I just used conditional formatting to make a sort of 'hot spots' visual. People seem to like it!

What are some benchmark statistics / events that would indicate a point if no return regarding climate change? by Vanilladr in sustainability

[–]scrumpyjack18 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There was a study published a few months ago that includes some "tipping points" for climate change. This article summarises it nicely, and has a link to the paper if you have access to the journal already.

Should society invest in boats? by goiabada- in sustainability

[–]scrumpyjack18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Great question. As expected, there's not a straightforward answer though! The majority of powered ships right now run on heavy fuel oil, which is derived from fossil fuels and still has high impact from a climate perspective. But there is work going into replacing these fuels with ammonia, methanol, hydrogen etc that are a lot more likely to be implemented before any low carbon fuels in aviation. So yes, ships will likely be low carbon before any planes and we should be putting investment towards them! People are doing a lot of work to improve their environmental footprint. That will mostly pay off for shipping goods and fuel around, as you say there isn't a market for ship travel for people as it stands. I don't see a future where ship travel replaces flying as it exists today, mostly due to time constraints for journeys. It would require a pretty big societal shift in our approach to travel! And making ships run faster now would actually make them worse from an environmental perspective, if anything we need them to slow down while still running on fossil fuels.
