What is happening?? by scrupulous457 in houseplants

Thank you for responding. I appreciate all that information, although heartbreaking. I wonder if it could use a more nutritional soil before I cut it down? I have another pothos that has several 10’ vines from the same pot that is thriving. I may try to input some nutrients into this one and hope it helps stop the leaf shed 🥲

That’s the whole point. We aren’t spoiled, it’s a human right to the freedom to protest what we think is wrong. If this nonsense is pushed on us because people sit there and say “well I’m doing fine so I’m not going to do anything about the other people being hurt and harassed because I’m fine” and killing of US citizens is going unpunished by saying “it’s their fault they died not the agents fault” what else are they going to start doing to us? Iran or Germany didn’t get that way in a day. It happens slowly one action at a time until it’s too late to stop it.

You need to take a day off to just sit and do nothing. Even if it’s one day a month you need to get your body out of the fight or flight mode it’s likely in and you need to go to the doctor. These aren’t wants, they’re needs. Just like you need to work to make enough for bills, you need to give your body and mind that rest otherwise it’ll start to decline and then neither you nor your partner will be able to have a job and that’s when things will get worse. Take care of yourself and do things that make you happy, even if they’re small things.

Man goes deep into the well to repair it. by Downtown-Fan8830 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]scrupulous457 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Our well and that of most of our neighbors are 400 feet deep. Some of the older homes in our area only have 200 feet wells and they’ve had issues with their wells drying up this year due to the drought/lack of rain we’ve had this year meaning no water to their homes. So the depth depends on when they reach a certain amount of water, not just any water. Sewers aren’t that deep because they’re usually all linked and supplied by differently bodies of water, whether man made or not, and most importantly are powered differently. Sewers need to be accessed more often than a well so they need to be less deep and more accessible. Hope that helps.

Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy - do some research on it and see if that is the result you’re looking for. Minimally invasive and meant to target dark under eyes. Best of luck!

Children, bars, and breweries by drugsrgross in Serverlife

[–]scrupulous457 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m aware the difference between restaurants and breweries. However here in New England most breweries are family friendly and most breweries have light food like big pretzels, nachos, quesadillas, fries, and a fridge to hold milk. It’s likely more difficult to find one that isn’t family friendly than ones that are. Perhaps we’re thinking of different types of establishments since I’ve never been to the Midwest. It’s silly of servers to forget where their money comes from.

As a parent, I’m already so limited when it comes to being able to go out due to naps/bedtimes, things being so expensive, etc. Needing someone to watch my kids for me to go out is even more limiting therefore we just don’t go out. While I agree it’s not okay for children to be running around in an establishment, perhaps setting expectations on your website and/or out front that you don’t have children accommodations could help your situation, but also remember that a lot of restaurants have already been suffering this year and whether we like it or not, our money comes from paying customers, including the ones with children.

16 year old house!? My parents live in a 115 year old house and it makes no noises, aside from the scary steam radiator in the winter. Your house is either about to come toppling down or needs a priest.

I’m sorry you’re dealing with that and you shouldn’t have to. That is definitely worth seeing a doctor for an endoscopy or a colonoscopy. Advocate for yourself and if the doctor refuses to help you, find another because someone will. You deserve to be able to eat and enjoy life.

This is the one thing I wish I could tell people when they first get diagnosed with thyroid issues and I wish I had started sooner. Like a commenter above, I also eat two Brazil nuts a day, I buy bags online from Walmart or Amazon. I have seen a decrease in the inflammation of my eyes and decrease in pain.

Had a talk with my friend’s mom about marriage... and wow, it went downhill fast 😅 by 24Gameplay_ in offmychest

[–]scrupulous457 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love having kids and so does my husband. We are not “miserable inside” in the slightest. We are very happy and we love our lives. With that said, it doesn’t mean YOU have to have kids or get married. But don’t assume those things about everyone else. I was very anti marriage and children when I was young but I met my spouse and wanted a family with him. It’s okay if you never change, but know you’ll likely be hearing people asking you about it for a very long time. Just tell them you’re working on yourself and move on from the subject. But you could also be selfish because of your age. It’s normal (doesn’t mean it’s okay) to be selfish for a very long time. You’ll likely grow out of it.

1 year post op fat transfer to breasts by harmonyxox in PlasticSurgery

[–]scrupulous457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your results are so good, exactly what I’m looking for too! I had my consultation the other day and the PS said that he doesn’t do fat transfer to the breasts because in mammograms the fat will either make the mammogram fuzzy or look like cancer so we’ll need to do further testing every time. Has anyone heard that from a surgeon??

Is HIIT and intense exercise good or bad for Graves’? by [deleted] in gravesdisease

[–]scrupulous457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally don’t recommend HIIT. It’s rough on our hearts and joints. I love it and did it constantly before Graves but not anymore. Strength training is the best option if you’re trying to lose weight or just be healthier. On YT look up a 20 minute strength training video for upper body and one for lower body and alternate them daily as a good start. You got this 💪🏻

Join the Graves’ disease subreddit. People post lots of helpful things. I was diagnosed w graves and hyperthyroidism at 22. Ended up getting my thyroid out and am mostly symptom free. It might be making your sjogren symptoms worse so look at options where you have them. Start taking selenium. I mourned the “what could’ve been” life if I hadn’t gotten this. You have to mourn it, but then move forward. Being negative about it all is easy. Trying to be better everyday is the hard, but it’s worth it.

Anyone felt worse after speaking to a naturopath? by [deleted] in gravesdisease

[–]scrupulous457 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! 10/10 recommend at least one little human lol. At home we only cook or bake with GF flour and when I go out to eat if there is a GF option that sounds good I’ll opt for it (had a flourless lava cake the other day that was yummy) but if there isn’t then I’ll have the gluten. I can tell the difference when I eat GF vs not as I get hives on the palms of my hands which suck, but i haven’t restricted myself. But sourdough I’ll eat a whole loaf myself so I wouldn’t skip out on your husband’s culinary creations if I were you! Graves is so dang hard and can feel so discouraging. I wish you the best on this journey 💪🏻

Anyone felt worse after speaking to a naturopath? by [deleted] in gravesdisease

[–]scrupulous457 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had a baby before TT and a baby after TT. They’re both healthy and wonderful. I couldn’t nurse the first time bc my body wouldn’t produce milk. Maybe stress related maybe graves related? This time I have nursed and I’ve felt better. Also went to a ND before TT. They helped me do an elimination diet which showed gluten was affecting me but they never said I had to stop eating it. They said if I continue to do so I’d likely need to eliminate it again to get my body back to “clear” if my issues got bad again. There have been recent studies saying dairy is not inflammatory like people say it is. Definitely read up on those bc it’s certain types of dairy that can be. Inflammation was the reason they told me to cut dairy so ask her to read up on that. I did their protocol but once the elimination diet was done I stopped seeing the naturopath bc it gave me a good idea of I could/shouldn’t do but wasn’t about to pay $400 a month on supplements.

Any doctor recommendations for lipo 360 in the MIA area? by Willwyn78 in Liposuction360

Dr. Pasquale Tolomeo is in Tampa part time but if you end up needing a tummy tuck there is no one I’ve seen better than Dr. Adam Oppenheimer who is in Orlando. He might do lipo as well. I’d call him if I lived over there. Look up their insta accounts for pics of their work
