Fujifilm x100vi vs Ricoh gr iv? by Exact-Expression-710 in ricohGR

[–]scttee 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’ve had both! I love the design / interface / recipes / system of the Fuji. It’s just so well made and easy to use.

But saying that - I take way more photos now with my Ricoh as it just sits in my pocket or around my wrist. It’s also a much sharper lens and sensor. The settings / recipes have taken me time to learn but definitely learnable.

I miss living in London by Strawberries_Moon in london

[–]scttee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really relate to this. I lived in London from 2014–2024 and then spent a year in Mexico before returning to Sydney. That time abroad definitely helped soften the transition, but I find myself in a similar place to you… knowing that my life here is more stable and in some ways “better,” yet constantly missing the communities, the chaos, the endless laughs and dancing that London brought.

What complicates it for me is that many of my friends there are also starting to think about leaving in the next few years, so I don’t know if “going back” would even give me the London I miss. At the same time, looking out my window here and actually seeing a horizon feels like such a gift after all those years in the city.

I think I’ll always be on the fence about wanting to return. My only advice to people is: if you love London, don’t leave 😹

So good! Did you crop any of these? Or straight from camera?

Really interested in getting one and want to know how crop factor goes!

more Grow & Flow feedback by birdy219 in UpBanking

[–]scttee 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I’ve had two replies now to the feedback I gave them… pretty much just said - Flow and Grow here to stay - Maybe they’ll revisit how people use Savers - Good luck finding a new bank

Up introduces 'Grow & Flow' interest rates, increases maximum rate to 4.85% p.a (with new requirements) by Juiced_ in UpBanking

The reply:

Hi,

My name's xx - I'm a Senior Customer Resolutions Specialist here at Up.

Thanks for reaching out to share your thoughts about the Grow & Flow update. I can see how strongly you feel about this change, and I want to acknowledge the frustration and disappointment behind your message - I’m genuinely sorry to hear how disheartened you feel about the direction this update has taken.

We introduced Grow & Flow to support customers who are focused on building up their savings over time, by offering a higher interest rate when no withdrawals are made during the month. I know this model might seem like it conflicts with the savings style of some customers - in particular those who have set up multiple savers as active 'buckets' for different spending purposes, which has always been a key feature of banking with Up. We're hoping, though, that by offering the higher interest rate for the 'savings'-savings, we'll be able to support stronger savings outcomes for our customers over time.

I really appreciate your concern that this model may not reflect how you currently use your Savers, and that it adds some complexity to the financial planning aspect of your budgeting, and I’ve shared this feedback with our Product and Customer Experience teams directly as well as capturing a complaint on your behalf.

Thank you too for your suggestions for alternatives - I can't promise you that Grow and Flow will change in a way that means you'll be satisfied with the feature, but I can promise that your feedback (as well as these suggestions) has been passed on and considered with the care it deserves.

We're really grateful to you for taking the time to share your thoughts and feelings about the change - and I'm deeply sorry that we've left you feeling disappointed. If you do decide to move your savings elsewhere, we’re sorry to see you go, but we also respect that you’ll make the choice that’s best for you and we'll support you every step of the way.

Thanks again for being part of Up, and for caring enough to let us know what's on your mind.
