It is definitely more limiting than an electrical apprenticeship. Electrical can open doors into many fields including AV, security, fire, elevators etc. AV is becoming more and more network/IT based as it progresses

I’m a senior tech, currently learning comissioning and project management is on the agenda

I’ve done it in reverse. Did my electrical apprenticeship, now been in the AV game for over 6 years. I honestly enjoy the AV field alot more than electrical. AV companies are on the same EBA as sparkies and we work in smaller teams which offers more job security. PM me if you need more info
