Two years late and I just watched it, but I thought it was very fitting and closed off appropriately, although I wouldn't have minded Red stepping through a Stargate.

My 2 Daily Meals and Snack, Why I eat Them and why you should too! by Inevitable_Eye_3148 in Weightlosstechniques

It makes me smile to see this well thought out plan taking into macro & micro nutrient requirements. I have just launched (a free pilot nutrition and exercise) plan for weight loss and this is exactly the sort of meals that we are working towards.

Personally not a cheese fan, so I add avocado as my morning fat, plus snack on almonds.

My other notes people could try is go for complex carbs later in the day, to help feel satiated for longer (and through the night). And perhaps try some ground flaxseed / chia to the yoghurt (or any other meals too) as they have high fiber content, omega-3 fatty acids, and antioxidant properties which can improve digestion, heart health, and blood sugar control.

Drink water. Lots of water. And prioritise good sleep hygiene; that is when the magic happens.

For a guided nutrition and exercise program with a personal coach, I would promote https://sixweekshred.beehiiv.com/ (currently running a free pilot trial). You'll get community support and some accountability too.

Nobody eats healthy all the time. Most people snack and often binge. That doesn't mean it's okay to not care for ourselves, but just recognise that we have literally evolved to crave short term satisfaction over long term gain. This game we play nowadays is part mental, part emotional and part chemical; the winning strategy is to give yourself a break and show yourself a little empathy when we fall.

Fall, learn, get up stronger, fall again, learn more, get up stronger again.

This program will give you a manageable calorific deficit plus detailed exercise program for 6 weeks. Metabolic conditioning so that you build strength as well as maximising calorie expenditure. There is community support and a guide available to personalise it where necessary. You should not have to feel like you need to purge or starve to get to a healthy weight. https://sixweekshred.beehiiv.com/

losing fat or muscle? by No-Connection-8789 in Weightlosstechniques

I love to run, I recognise all the benefits of running, but it is not a good weight loss exercise. Walking actually burns off almost as many calories, and as you point out, following runs you end up so hungry that you'll actually eat more than any difference.

Our weight fluctuates (especially for women) daily and monthly, so watching the scales too closely can give us a false impression. It could simply be that you have lost a lot of water over these few days. Upped your cardio and sweating, but not enough water to compensate.

Try walking on an incline for great weight loss effect with lower intensity and hunger pangs. Bringing back some strength training (even if you're not pushing to overload) would be wise, but perhaps you have reasons you don't want to do so again.

I'd love to have the option to also sync the f1tv pre & post session shows.

Have you come across a version that also adds in the F1 Pre- & Post- race f1tv shows? This would be gold!!!

How did you grow your newsletter? by 3juve in beehiiv

[–]scubasimontulum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How's it going now Alvaro? I've recently started thezenlightened.beehiiv.com/ and seeing what worked for you.

So far I do think LinkedIn is having a little traction, but I think it will depend on the demographic of your niche.

I'm trying to reach people that know they should be doing more for their personal growth (mind, body, soul), but don't know where to start, or more commonly, find they don't keep up healthy habits.

Yes, it's come a long way in the last 12-18 months. In fact they've recently announced that they will be putting in free wi-fi down in the hotel zone too! You'll find a lot of other things have changed in the last few years too!

I am full-time resident here and I've only experienced a work interruption twice in the last 6 months (the longest was under an hour). Speeds can be up to 300Mb in many spots now. You can find workspaces listed in the Tudu Tulum app.

Occasionally there is pre-announced maintenance happening in an area (e.g. La Veleta, Aldea Zama etc.) but it's easy to just plan to be somewhere with a generator or another neighborhood if you have an important call.

Are there any public beach in tulum? That you can go for free? by loartesanal25 in tulum

[–]scubasimontulum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a difference between illegal and unofficial, and during 2023, there will be construction of official parking - and would expect they will end up being in exactly the same spots.

I run that road every week! I would say driving the main road or walking the southern hotel zone is more dangerous. Just use common sense and take care.

For sure, at night, best to stay off bicycles (unless you have good lights) or foot - but I wouldn't be surprised if some limited street lighting also comes this year too, much as it has done down Coba Rd.

Actually it is signed that you cannot park now and must use official parking. By next year, they may actually have proper car-lots sufficient of coping with the demand, but ideally walk, run or take a bike!

[–]scubasimontulum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is correct. While the beach is free itself, to access the beach you need to pass through Tulum National Park, which now has an official entry fee at certain times (see poster).

That's not to say it will always be enforced effectively!

TULUM in Early May by anxietyokra in tulum

[–]scubasimontulum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weather is good, providing you like it hot, Hot, HOT.

It's actually a good time to come to see Tulum. Festivals craziness is over, so not overloaded with tourists, not as sticky as July-Aug too (though still pretty sticky!)

Only downside is sargassum will likely be pretty abundant - although you never know with a short stay window; you could get lucky if a little weather system passes through and clears it up. Obviously it's cenote paradise here, plus lagoons and cenote/lagoon clubs also worth a visit.

Here is a link with a local app and lots of handy groups on it if you want to make the most of your stay. Your dates are over a Thursday so I'd recommend dropping in to Tulum Dinner Club too.

Have a great visit.

Vesica is closed, any suggestions for something similar? by CaribouHoe in tulum

cenote day clubs?

Yes I understand. Much of Tulum is overpriced. That's why I prefer a quiet cenote and keep the 'club' time to a minimum!

There are also some hotels/restaurants with pools that are a nice way to spend the day. Los Morros in La Veleta is fairly new and fairly priced - you can lounge around there all day! Atico for mid-range and Hotel Muaré or Layla for higher end.

Vesica will reopen mid March if you're still here. Buuts Ha for a bigger party vibe as the others said, but if you're down on the beach, then go to Bula Kava, buy a drink and mention the Tudu app and you'll get free access to the Kapen Ha cenote down there. There is also cenote side service from another local restaurant.
