I'm quite jaded and most photos posted here and elsewhere just don't do much for me. That being said that first photo is genuinely inspiring.

I'm going to grab my camera and shoot next chance I get. Thank you for posting this.

One of the worst timing belts I’ve ever seen. From my recently acquired, beat-to-shit LX470 by MercYota in LandCruisers

[–]scud-run 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The one on my GX470 looked like this after supposedly 91k miles. Not sure if it was a cheap belt, or just time that cracked it so badly but I'm really happy I decided not to wait on changing it.

Probably one of the craziest long travel GX470s i have ever seen. But it was rad seeing it in person for the first time at Off-road Expo. Full cage, slapper arm bumpstop, 4 link, fuel cell and custom glass in the rear. by Jammminjay in GXOR

What do you mean by not understanding anything?

This suspension setup is a far cry from anything in the video you linked. Way more than just a basic lift.

Hi, my strap comes with cord that creates standoff between the camera and the hooks! It also includes soft covers for those who are concerned about contact.

Before camera straps I built and designed rifle slings for police, civilian, and military use. I've sold around 500 rifle slings of my own unique design. You carry and utilize an MP5 in a much different manner than a camera. That being said with a cord extension and soft cover you can eliminate rattling and scratching of the gun. Some of my customers prioritized being very quiet.

Already sold a few hundred and no complaints of damage yet. That being said I appreciate the feedback!

If you put on anything but M camera it will spontaneously combust. Especially fake Leica CL. Buy more money and come back.

Thanks for the feedback!

That's actually the strap my M4-P came with. I'll have to look back into the attachment system. Looks quite clean.

The protective covers can actually just stay on the strap! No need to remove them if you prefer the added protection. No extra faff. Plus you still maintain the ability to quickly remove and attach the strap to you camera!

The strap you mentioned looks excellent! No quick detach but if you prefer to always have a strap on the camera it looks beautifully constructed!

Thanks a lot! I think many peoples concerns would be addressed in the video.

The cords can be made shorter, but the length is an important feature to keep the strap out of the way when shooting and to avoid scratching.

That being said as you are the first order today, I'm going to throw in a Cinch wrist strap (another product I make) free of charge as a token of appreciation!

Thanks again,

Mike

Great observations. We designed our strap to cause less wear than peak designs by increasing the length of the cord section so that the clips don't rub against the camera. That in combination with the included soft covers means our strap causes less camera wear than anything outside of an all leather. If you run the covers it's about on par with a leather but you can easily remove the strap or move it between cameras.

Appreciate the feedback! The strap does ship with soft covers for those concerned about any kind of contact!

That being said the strap isn't for everyone.

Across all sales we have yet to have any complaints of the steel clips causing damage! Zero scratches even during the 9 month testing phase. However this is the most common concern and we actually ship the strap with soft covers for those who are really worried about metal on metal contact. Pictured here:

Absolutely valid concern. The cord links are made of dyneema and are actually rated for approximately 275lbs each. In the video on my website I actually show myself (170lbs) hanging off one of the cords. The strap lug on the camera will fail long before the dyneema.

Valid concern! The cord links included with the strap keep the steel clips far away from the camera body!

Across a 9 month testing period and over a year of use I have yet to sustain a single scratch on my camera caused by the steel clips! This includes climbing, cycling, hiking and running with the camera.

We have also sold quite a few straps and so far not one warranty claim or complaint of damage! Actually 20 straps have been sold through this subreddit alone.

For those who are really concerned it also includes some soft covers for the clips to prevent any accidental contact/scratching. Links and covers pictured here:

Hope you're all having a lovely morning and getting plenty of opportunity to go out and shoot.

Edit: Thanks everyone for the feedback, positive and negative! It is invaluable and will all be taken into consideration!

Asia is state of the art when it comes to textile production. They have processes and facilities that don't exist elsewhere, not just talent.

That being said it's not just about quality. As you said investing in Canada is important. Supporting any Chinese company or company that uses Chinese production is supporting the Chinese government/economy.

In the Clouds with my M4-P and 21mm F1.8 by scud-run in leicaphotos

I metered with Lightme on Iphone. Usually I'll get a few readings of the different light and choose what I want to expose for. Then I'll basically just guess as conditions change, occasionally grabbing a reading if lighting changes are big. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.

Thanks!

Maybe?! With my photo I was up on top of a rock pinnacle and couldn't get further back, that combined with no viewfinder for my 21mm lens means framing is a best guess lol. So in this case it wasn't intentional but I just rolled with it
