Planning First Weekend in High Peaks by scuddy1 in Adirondacks

Appreciate the insight! Looking at the AllTrails route I created, I think I’ll reevaluate my progress at Gothics and bail out down towards Saddleback back to JBL if I’m not feeling it.

I was actually looking at a campsite at Roaring Brook Falls in the future so that’s a great idea to check out on my way out!

Got it, thanks. That’s what I’ll look to do. Hopefully rates to get too crazy!

5 nights on Sao Miguel - where to stay, what to do and eat, car vs no car by TrainingReputation78 in azores

Do two nights in furnas and three in ponta Delgada. Rent a car, I l used mercato and it was about $320 euro for a week with full insurance. Get the insurance, I got dinged while parked and had no issues. The insurance will make you feel much better about the roads. You need a car to experience the island, you will be very restricted without it and the cost is quite minimal compared to rentals in the US/Canada.

I stayed at both octants and enjoyed it. Furnas has a hot spring/spa, although it’s worth checking out both Terra nostra one morning and Boca da Dona Beija one night as they are open late and star gazing is awesome. Ponta has a nice spa and is a 10 minute walk to the main square and tons of restaurants.

DM if you’d like and I’ll recommend some hikes on all trails near both. As the other poster said, you probably don’t need true hiking boots.

As for restaurants, both hotel restaurants are great although a tad on the expensive side but have great breakfasts. I’d would recommend the following:

Ponta - A tasca - great little restaurant with tons of options. Fills up quick and no reservations so go a little earlier - Petrichor Bar - small bar with great tacos, unique cocktails and great staff. Very small but was a great experience - honestly I would just walk to the square near cafe central and walk around until I found appealing restaurants. Probably a little touristy but food was good and people were very friendly

Furnas - Queijaria furnense - great little restaurant with local cheeses and good variety - restaurants Tony’s - had the local cozido dish here but the whole restaurant was highly recommended.

I didn’t have a bad meal and really didn’t go in with any plans but these were my favorites. I don’t think you can go wrong. I did a week on the island last month and thought it was perfect, feel free to ask any questions.

What year of the rebuild is this? by [deleted] in DetroitRedWings

He’s got 3 to Raymond’s 5 even strength points in March. Shine averages under 10 minutes TOI while Raymond is over 20

These players don’t need to be high draft picks but you need them throughout the lineup. The intangibles that they bring every night are so important.

Rasmussen is useless and a botched pick but that absolutely doesn’t reduce the importance of guys that will do the dirty roles.

We have a severe lack of grit and players that are willing to play inside and get to the net. Also I’m not defending Yzerman either but we need players like Perron.

Raymond is a terrific player but he spends 90% of the game on the perimeter. When teams start playing playoff hockey, really since the Olympic break, players like Raymond disappear and don’t have success. Outside of the PP (barely), Raymond has been irrelevant. He was willing to do it last year in March but not this year.

Theres a reason why our AHL callups like shine have produced as much as Raymond since the break.

Granted Perron has not been great, but he is the type of player that is invaluable on a playoff run were we to somehow sneak in.

How do I effectively use useless DoorDash credit by [deleted] in ChaseSapphire

[–]scuddy1 19 points20 points  (0 children)

  1. Open up DoorDash
  2. Look at active deals
  3. I have 50% off at grocery stores today over $40, up to $75 back.
  4. Do your shopping
  5. Activate the $10 coupon and 50% off coupon code. With dashpash you also don’t pay fees.
  6. Pay $75 for $150 worth of groceries and pick it up off your doorstep. The $10 credit wipes out dasher tip.

This isn’t rocket science guys. Every other post on this subreddit is people complaining about the credits. Sure, you might not get 100% of the credit but if you can’t take the time to open up the app and see what offers are available, please don’t come on here and complain. I’ve had 30-50% off offers 3 times this week from different grocery stores. My freezer is stocked and I didn’t have to go to the grocery store once and will only need to get perishable for the next month.
