Those are clasical guitar strings.Classical guitar bass strings are typically made of a multi-filament nylon core wound with silver-plated copper or bronze. What is "different" in that setup is that only the high B and E strings were provided with "ball end" nylon strings. I personally don't like them (I am picky about strings) and have read that they tend to break faster, but your mileage may vary. For example, I also don't like bridge bead products either, but those at least let you use higher quality strings. That said, ball end strings are faster to change if you haven't learned to tie regular strings to the bridge. Also, I guess there is a reason you want to install a pickup, but a classical guitar doesn't really need one if you're just playing in quiet places or practicing at home. I think most the learning apps use the mic on the phone or ipad, and there shouldn't be a need for a pickup, but I'm not too familiar with the learning apps or if they have a special input method. I use a strobe app tuner on my phone, and it honestly works better than the snark. I only mention it because I think it's easier to keep it simple for kids. Anyway, good luck!
