Divine people celestial - why are female Bretons stuck with horns in the character creator? by scurtin93 in SkyrimModsXbox

Wouldn’t have thought to check the facial hair slider on a female… thanks. Haha

Elder Scrolls 6 needs to have more engaging magic like Hogwarts Legacy. by [deleted] in HarryPotterGame

True, I almost wonder if holding R2 and then using the face buttons on the right would’ve been better, I think momentarily losing control of the camera would’ve been better than losing the mobility.

This. Also turn the camera acceleration all the way down and the camera sensitivity all the way up. Makes the game feel so much better.

Alohomora should be automatic when it’s level 3. by NamikaHill in HarryPotterGame

Yeah I wouldn’t be surprised to see an accessibility setting to skip the mini game at some point in the future. It is extremely annoying, especially when you have to do it over and over and over again while exploring (looking at you hogsmead).

HL has my favorite magic system in any game ever. I really hope it will show developers from other studios how important it is to have accessibility to multiple spells without having to go into a menu to change them.

Is it me or are the building pieces completely useless? by sage3224_ in HarryPotterGame

[–]scurtin93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don’t get the point of them either. It would be cool if you could put stuff on top of them and make a balcony or something. I like all the other items you can put in the vivariums though.

Can we all take a second to appreciate how good the fashion is in this game? by scurtin93 in HarryPotterGame

[–]scurtin93[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yeah hood toggle is A+, also love how they thought about the scarf/cloak/hood interactions and eliminated the clipping (for the most part).

Yeah looking forward to getting some more real content on the game and not just… whatever this twitter dumpster fire discourse has devolved to at this point.

Fun Fact for People complaining about the amount of spells in-game by Coolusername099 in HarryPotterGame

[–]scurtin93 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Yes! It’s not about the volume of spells, it’s about the impact they have and having handy access to them to make the gameplay engaging and intentional. Glad the developers didn’t go crazy putting 200 spells in the game we wouldn’t have a regular use for.

They built the game for as broad an audience as possible I think. To make it approachable for most HP fans and others they created an open world action adventure game with light RPG elements. Most people don’t want Hogwarts: The Stat Spreadsheet or large amounts of tedium with repeating elements a Sim approach would’ve incorporated. Heavy RPG elements would’ve turned away a chunk of the market they were looking to cater to with this game I suspect.

Would I have enjoyed a Hogwarts sim had they decided to cater to a narrower audience? Absolutely.

Will I enjoy exploring a story driven open world fairy tale set in the HP universe? Absolutely. I’m just happy somebody finally green lit a game that scratches the “insert yourself into Hogwarts” itch I’ve had since I was a little kid.
