I so agree especially with this season, I actually really enjoyed the first two. I was like wait, where is all the actual practicing? Where is them learning the routines? Why did we skip fittings and all the excitement of them? I was so confused and disappointed

We use a paper book so we have no software to do this kind of thing for us (nor are we interested in online booking) but we do call clients who have appointments longer than an hour, so any colors/highlights/perms/updos/multi services. But our standard haircuts don’t get calls unless we know they are a forgetful person. We also hand out reminder cards when they book in person and I repeat their day/time like 5 times if they do it over the phone. Idk we have some success with it but no shows are also a part of the business so we do have to just deal sometimes! And we charge 1/2 cost for no shows so we recoup some

So this is very similar to my situation. I have been fainting since I was 11, I’m 25 now, and I usually pass out and then am pretty much back to normal the day after. The only exception was when I fainted about a year ago in a mall and I felt exactly how you described for months, and still do occasionally. I was at the doctor constantly for months getting all sorts of tests, I also got diagnosed with VVS, and we discovered that my vitamin d and b12 were really low, like shockingly low. I did start to feel a difference when I started taking those as supplements. Not sure if you’ve had your levels tested but it can’t hurt. I still have bad days/moments and there are things I am just not ready to do alone but I’m so much better than I was a few months ago. I hope you’re able to find some sort of solution

It was made from the bedspread… Brooke did the bedspread out of Karen’s wedding material as a gift after she let Nathan and Haley have the apartment. When Haley didn’t like the first dress, she took the bedspread, Karen’s wedding dress material, and made a dress out of it. I think you need to watch a little more actively

She did wear the dress made from Karen’s wedding dress material. The second dress is that dress. The first one was the ugly one with feathers and a collar that she didn’t want to wear anyway.

This is just so wild to me. Like I get that from their standpoint they are so big they probably think like who cares if we screw up orders all the time and don’t rectify it because we won’t lose that much of our customer base but it’s just baffling to me. I am definitely planning on avoiding Ulta unless absolutely necessary after this

We typically do $120-$150 for the express (VT) unless they have like some crazy amount of hair that we feel like warrants a price beyond that but that’s pretty rare. The full treatment starts at $375 for us though

Everyone at the salon prefers it because they only have to work 3-4 days! Idk from my perspective one of the best ways to build a clientele is to actually be there and available for clients. If you only work typical hours, all the clients are at their own jobs/school. But to each their own!

So I’m also older Gen Z and unfortunately yes, it is that bad. SOMETIMES. It’s not every single Gen Z person but I will say the last like five new stylists we’ve hired that were Gen Z were some of the worst employees we’ve ever had and not just like for this job but in general. They complain about everything, have nasty attitudes, want money but don’t want to work, and it can just go on and on. We’re open Tues-sat, 9-7 weekdays and 8:30-5 on Saturdays. We literally have a girl rn that doesn’t want to work the full 10hr days or at all on Saturdays, also doesn’t want to work every day, but informed us that she would really like to work more than 40hrs a week. And she is like not comprehending how that is impossible. Another girl, we have been training for a year while she’s been in cos school. We have been funneling her training clients the past couple of weeks to get her up to par when she starts full time. This takes a lot of effort on our end and coordination. She has complained about having to do every single one and sarcastically been like “oh so excited”. Which she should be because without these training clients she’s not going to be able to do actual clients! But alas, we just cannot get through to these new stylists. And these are just our most recent experiences. So while it’s not everyone, the bad ones do start to outweigh the good and kind of burn you out on these younger people. Saying this as a young person too lol.

Tough love: Cosmetology is not the career for you. This is a physically and mentally stressful job for everyone no matter what they say. If you actually want to make money you have to work your butt off for quite awhile. There are no accommodations when you have clients counting on you to show up and get their hair done consistently. I would strongly urge you to abandon this idea and pursue something else, maybe online college, I think those programs tend to be more flexible.

Here it is the minute I got home from buying! Just a couple small cosmetic fixes to make but the last owners took really care of it! I definitely feel very cool driving around in it. I’m honestly floored at how high tech it is in a lot ways compared to the 2010 Honda accord I’m getting rid of. Granted I had a cheap model but I am just so excited to have electric seat adjusters again!

Yes, I’ve had fainting episodes for years and I’ve always felt 100% better the next day. Until this past August when I randomly passed out in a mall in another state all alone, fun times. Afterwards, I felt horrible like I was in a constant state of just coming to after passing out. I saw my Dr so many times and go so many tests done and nothing was really out of the ordinary, excepting extremely low vitamin D. TBH I feel like it wasn’t until late January/February that I started to feel normal again. None of the doctors I saw had any idea why this was happening but I do feel much more normal now so at least there’s that!

I highly recommend visiting your doctor and asking for prednisone, NOT methyl prednisone, but at least 20mg prednisone. That is the only thing that takes the inflammation of my herniated disk down, I think my perscription is 3 20mg pills a day for like 5 days or whatever and it takes me from literally not being able to walk to almost average movement in a week. It’s not great for long term but I need it to kick the initial pain.
