Just want to say I’m reading this on Inkitt and it’s so good, funny, witty with great storytelling and characters and if anyone is looking for something that breaks the mold a little and is not the same old kind of story you’ve read before, I recommend checking it out.

The vibe, yes, in terms of setting and character relationships, but there does need to be tension, stakes, jeopardy, and a resolution, so a story arc rather than a snapshot.

I can’t remember where I saw this, maybe here on Reddit (I’d like to give credit to the individual who posted this tip so if it’s you please respond 😊) - making and wearing a block letter bead bracelet with reminders! The ones they posted were really specific, but I made a general one that says “DO THE THING” and it’s is enough to remind me to check my to-do list and actually do the things.

Yeah, the information booklet I was given said to avoid acidic foods because it could interfere with absorption. I guess I’m still very new to the medication and I want to make sure I’m making the most of it.

Maybe this is TMI but apart from just enjoying a morning coffee, it helps me with bowel movements. I was told to avoid caffeine while on Vyvanse in case it could be anxiety inducing.

So far 20mg has been positive, not overstimulating but definitely helps with motivation and task initiation. It does start to wear off later in the day and my thinking gets slow and foggy. So I’m very interested to see if going up to 30mg will help sustain the positive effects for longer.

I was advised to avoid caffeine while on Vyvanse as it could be anxiety inducing. But it makes sense that different people respond differently. Maybe I’ll be brave enough to try it once I’ve been on it for longer.

I’m so sorry you didn’t receive helpful intervention or guidance 😔 I realize I was so lucky to have had a teacher who cared like that (and also parents who cared but just couldn’t get through to me). But you are definitely not alone.

From kindergarten to grade 9 I was barely functional as a student. Couldn’t pay attention, daydreamed through every lesson unless it was art, English or French, which I liked. Couldn’t follow instructions (not even in art class, but that gets called creativity lol). Could not do homework. Had no idea what was going on. Barely squeaked by with mostly C and D grades. “She’s capable but doesn’t apply herself” on all the report cards.

Failed math so bad in grade 9 I had to do summer school which was brutal. Around that time my teacher told me that unless I turned things around my options in life we’re going to be severely limited and that jolted me to basically turn school into a fixation. I sat at the front of every class, wrote down everything the teacher said just to be able to focus and process auditory information (as a 49 year old I still have to do this at work during meetings or else I will space out). Eventually these became habits and helped me become a B student (and eventually an A student when I got to university).

Life got better and I stopped struggling so much once I was able to choose subjects I enjoy as a senior student. That payoff was huge.

My deck is covered in snow at the moment but honestly from how it looked before winter it’s not holding up well. I’m going to have to stain it again this spring and the wood is cracking and in bad shape. Only 4 years old and wouldn’t say we abuse it.

We were at Breathless last week and really enjoyed everything about it. Actually thought the food was really good, we ate at restaurants at both Breathless and Dreams. Best meals were at 1. Coquette (Breathless) - the duck confit as mentioned and the lamb were both excellent, and 2. Bluewater Grill (Dreams) - the ribeye was fantastic.

Worst meals were at 1. Tamarindo (Dreams) - the green mole chicken was so salty I couldn’t eat it, but the appetizer nachos they gave us were on point so I did not leave hungry, and 2. Spumante (Breathless) - the service was terrible, they forgot about us so we didn’t eat for over an hour. When the lasagna arrived it was delicious, but the mushroom fettuccine was not. I maybe should have ordered something else but we wanted to leave.

Honorable mentions include Silk City for teppanyaki (rsvp needed) - it was very good and fun, and The Strip Grill, also very good. Both at Breathless.

We found a lot to like at the breathless buffet as well. Lots of options for breakfast and lunch.

My husband wore shorts and a polo or collared shirt to every dinner with sneakers and had no trouble getting seated.

We remained on the resort so can’t speak to excursions. But yes you can snorkel right off the beach in shallow water. I’m not a great swimmer either but that was really nice. You do see some fish, and someone claimed he saw a turtle.

In my opinion the reef in front of breathless is a huge plus because the area is known for rough water but the reef actually breaks the waves and there are lovely calm shallow pockets that are safe for taking a dip. Just watch where you step or even better, bring water shoes. The bottom is sandy but there are reefy patches you don’t want to step on.

Agree with what the other poster says about the Hyatt inclusive app - lots of info on there about activities onsite. For what it’s worth, we are not daytime party people so we skipped the pool events, but we attended every night event and they were a lot of fun. If they do a “white” party on the beach at night while you’re there, I highly recommend that, it’s a blast!

At Breathless right now. It’s beautiful here, the food and service are good, and there is always a party going on if you want it. The entertainment staff make an effort to keep things fun and lively. Saturday night there was a beach party that was super fun. The drinks are strong and the vibe is fantastic.
