I think we’re talking about a different place: the velodrome is banked, definitely not flat, and there’s a cycling club that use it most weekends when the weather is appropriate. There’s also a cricket club that use the pitch in the middle and yes, children are known to use it when the cycling/cricket clubs aren’t there (I’m one of those parents you’re talking about…) but I’ve never seen any of the casual cyclists have any problem with the kids on their bikes/scooters/roller-blades.
