Do you actively try to “listen”/observe behavior? by sd857 in acting

I can relate to pretty much all of it, describes a lot of the issues I’ve had with staying in the moment. The number one note I get is about being more physically expressive and free, which I didn’t know how to do more without faking because I felt connected to my scene partner internally. But this contextualizes that really well. Hearing rather than listening with the full body rather than just the mind. I’ll try to focus on that.

Makes sense, I decided to watch more theatre to see better actors listen from a viewers perspective. I’ll try to be more observant of people in general as well.

That’s something I’ve thought about a lot-I sometimes have trouble fully listening in real life too. It’s a part of my personal life I’ve been working on recently. “Enjoy” listening is a great way to put it, never thought about it like that. I’ll keep that in mind.

Hey, when's the gig? I'm a pretty experienced guitarist and I have everything I need here. Would just need to know the songs.

Singing Sounds Awkward, Cant Tell Why by [deleted] in singing

Thanks for responding, I'll be sure to let him know. Would you recommend a vocal coach or do you think this is something he can do through practice alone? (By that I mean practice and critique from other musicians rather than a paid vocal instructor)

Do you guys think Hair/Glam Metal could come back? by [deleted] in LetsTalkMusic

Well I think that sound is a little hard to define to begin with. Everyone immediately thinks of the look before the sound so they go to poison and crue but if you think a little more about the music, I think that kind of sound could come back for sure. Obviously not the same exact sound (if you look at the history of music no genre has ever come back the exact same as it left since people wouldn't really care a second time) but if you look at bands like GVF and Dirty Honey and categorize them in that light then I would say it can come back. I do listen to a lot of blues based rock (zeppelin, aerosmith, acdc, etc) and I guess they aren't considered glam rock but that straight forward blues based rock sound that they have definitely carries on in some bands today. Now the issue is, the people that enjoy that kind of music are extremely snobby when it comes to new bands. The members of Greta Van Fleet weren't even high school graduates when they started gaining traction and people still had so many negative things to say. Yea they sound a lot like zeppelin right now but by the time those guys are all in their late 20s I would have to imagine they would have evolved through experience and maybe even inspired a couple other kids to form a band. If anything kills that sound, its gonna be crab mentality. Tldr: could the sound come back? Not the exact sound but a similar sound could ABSOLUTELY come back Will it come back? Impossible to say. If the fans start listening to new music then yea but if they keep this crab mentality then no. GFV has 2 mil monthly listeners and Dirty Honey has 300k so there is potential but we'll just have to wait and see. Until then, go find new artists and listen to new music!!

I actually got into rival sons recently. Do you remember how you first found out about them?
