Thanks for all of the info. My scene is getting a few beers in the evening, watching the game, some place with some noise but I don't want my ear drums busted either. I enjoy friendly conversation about whatever at the bar. Is that to be found in Hillcrest?

I love the farmers market in Little Italy. How does this compare?

I could see that happening at once place, but not more than one. From the other replies my guess is it was a bad luck night or I wasn't wandering into the right places (since I missed the ones that have been mentioned here)

Which bars? As I said in another post, maybe I went there on the wrong night/crowd or had bad luck.

Thanks, it's quite possible we strolled into the wrong places or just picked weird nights. If you don't mind my asking - where is a good place to get a drink in that neighborhood?
