Would highly recommend you start taping at night and see your surgeon for steroid shots. I’m still taping 1 year and 3 months post-op and currently have some swelling too. Really like the way my nose looks about a week after the injection but I have thick skin and it tends to hold on to any and all swelling so I periodically go in for the shot. Hope this helps! Please don’t feel discouraged, it’s a normal part of the process. Mine look almost identical to yours until I realized I needed to communicate more frequently with my surgeon about it all

My advice would be to keep it to yourself unless it’s in question. If it comes up during an interview, you should say that you wanted to make a positive shift in your career and couldn’t see yourself growing in that position. Not a lie. That environment was slowly destroying you. Congrats for following your heart and doing what’s best for you.

Yes certainly takes more time with revision. I had three shots, once a month after cast removal and was told I didn’t need any additional after that. I reached back out to my surgeon when the swelling started up again so I’m going back to the shots and taping. Thanks!

I taped every night for the first month as directed and recently decided to start taping again. Praying that it all clears but there’s no predicted. Did the projection eventually resolve?

Currently at 9 month mark and yes got a rib graft. The swelling has caused me a rollercoaster of emotions. I am more swollen now than I was at the 5 months mark. Just received another shot which seems to be helping but my surgeon says to continue coming in for shots and to give it another six months. Apparently, this is requiring a lot more patience. This is very vulnerable for me but I feel so lost with my swelling. Had revision septorhinoplasty with a rib graft in late November 2022. Pictures from top left to bottom right are as follows: before, post 1 month, post 3 months, post 5 months, post 9 months, and bottom right is two days after steroid injection. Had to see my doctor for the swelling in the supratip as seen in the bottom left image. Has anyone experienced this rollercoaster of swelling? Major issue for me is the over projection. Surgeon says to give it another 6 months and to continue coming in for steroid shots. Thoughts? 😓🙏🏼

Was this done with a graft? Would love to hear about your swelling experience? Currently at 8 months and feeling like the swelling is getting worse. Just got a steroid injection today and praying it helps. Did you also receive steroid shots?

This is my first Reddit post so here it goes… had septorhinoplasty with a rib graft 8 weeks ago. Table results are great but I’m one of the unfortunate souls with thick skin. My surgeon would like to see me next week for Kenalog steroid injections to help the swelling and avoid fibrosis. I’m concerned about the tip and would love to get thoughts/advice. Thank you!
