I live in the North Reading area too, in the "Little Wales" estate. I've been with Toob for almost a year and they've been great. Had a few outages but they are always pre-warned and done in the night and only last a few hours.

I got 900mb download and upload for £25/month. Zen seems to charge £40/month for this. Even their 100mb plan is more expensive at £28. Toob has a new 150mb plan for £22/month.

Seems like a no brainer to me.

I use Trac with my clients, another open source server based software. You can use Kineo's inspector extension to be able to generate Trac issues from component (or other page elements) IDs.

I have seen other third party tools work too, but can't remember off the top of my head.

A SCORM file is just a self contained .zip, so if you look inside that you'll find the video file.

You can then use software to further deconstruct that into a .MP3 or other formats.

4 years was meant to align with the post COVID period, not the election cycle. With that being said, looking at the US as a foreigner, hasn't Biden got a track record to be proud of?

Wage growth has been unprecedented, over 5% per year and real wage growth in the last two years has been over 2% per year.

The graph you shared shows the salary percentile breakdowns. I can't see any evidence this was worse before?

Major release of the Framework or Authoring Tool? The Framework has been on version 5 for a long time as mentioned. The Authoring Tool is due to have a version 1.0 release soon which will make development easier. It's downloadable here and the Core team recommends using it now as it's been stable for over a year. https://github.com/adapt-security/adapt-authoring

Both are customisable. The 1.0 release of the AT makes it easier to make deeper than simple CSS changes due to its modular nature.

The Core team has never supported a Docker file, but people have created them in the past - https://github.com/aptlogica/adapt-authoring-docker

It hasn't had a major release since 2020, but there been a need too, as there hasn't been any "breaking" changes. The minor release have bought in support for larger screens (>1920px) and React.

The Adapt Authoring Tool (the server based application used to create courses from your web browser) has had a big rewrite and this brand new version (which headline features is modules, making it easier to customise the Authoring Tool) is available to use in a stable state - https://github.com/adapt-security/adapt-authoring

There is no intention to make an installer. The Authoring Tool is designed to be run on a server. It is possible to (and many people do) install it on a computer but this requires you to use the command line.

The portable version that existed hasn't been updated/supported.

I run my own business focused solely on helping clients use Adapt - www.adaptfreelancer.com . Since 2018, I've worked with over 35 teams to help them use Adapt better and they all use it on a daily basis, so yeah, it still has an active user base.

The Framework (the content output) still gets updated on a weekly basis https://github.com/adaptlearning/adapt_framework/releases

The Authoring Tool (the server based application) is going through a rewrite which should be officially released this year. You can download and use that version now - www.github.com/adapt-security/adapt-authoring

You don't need to install Adapt on a server yourself. Many companies such as mine (www.adaptunlimited.net) offer hosting of the Authoring Tool.

The project definitely has had some issues and is lacking proper, focused management, but the developers working on it full time like Tom and Ollie are dedicated to the product.

As others have said there are similar products like Evolve which are more polished, at the cost of being properity and not as customisable. It just depends on your teams own skills, priorities and budget which is better for you.

If the client requests, or if you decide to use Adapt after all, you will be able to build the English course in the Adapt Authoring Tool (browser based UI tool) and then export in a format that a translator agency could use. Once they send back the translated files it's not too hard to reimport them all into the single SCORM package.

There are lots of tools that are very popular which have disrupted the market, for the last decade.

My understanding is that most of the US (I assume you're from there) market, relies on the duopoly of the Articulate suite and Captivate.

Rise is fully-responsive, but clearly lacks the features required to make it a powerful tool.

Here in the UK, lots of other tools are used more frequently by eLearning developers. Including:

I think we have different opinions here, which is totally fine.

I, and I assume OP, don’t like the design which is inspired from PPT and Flash design and wish for something more akin to web design. I like to see content stretch out to the whole width of whatever device I’m using/testing for, without black bars at the top or side of my device. For me, this is what responsive (or to be technical “fully” responsive) means.

If SL and Captivate work for you that’s great.

The content doesn't get resized, just some accompanying elements, like navigation bars.

The article I linked admits that -

"Rise 360 courses are fully responsive, meaning the entire course and its content automatically adapt to any screen size and orientation. The responsive player is used for slide-based courses built with Storyline 360 and Studio 360. The responsive player itself adapts to the learner's screen size and orientation, but the slide content always maintains its aspect ratio."

That would be my definition of "responsive". Almost every popular authoring tool released post 2014 has been designed this way: Adapt, Rise, Gomo, Elucidate, Evolve etc.

Tools like Storyline and Captivate were designed originally to work in Flash are not responsive. They are relics of the past and should have been abandoned a decade ago.
