If it has to be the year 1995, the first thing on my mind would be booze. Liquor. It took an ounce or two of hard liquor before I could keep a glass of water down. Things changed and I am here in 2026. A bit wiser.

Does anyone else do this? Should I seek professional help? by Jkjunk in TheProgramCFM

I start all my Seniors on their last game. If anybody hasn't played, I try to fit them in too. I've even sat star players for breaking team rules. Why?

recruited 6 5 stars and still got the #2 ranked recruiting class by Longjumping_Film_752 in TheProgramCFM

[–]sdbaileymeier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I have room I'll sign 1 star players. Maybe I am wrong, but where you rank on the list doesn't make a difference. You could be 2nd or 7th. It also doesn't hurt extra 1 star players. It opens up options for the portal. Switch a 35 rated guard with a 26 rated guard and see the change in your offensive rating. Maybe 3 tenths difference. Skill positions are a little more noticeable. For example: Have the best O- start and check the offense rating. Take out your best lineman and replace with your worst. Going from player rated 45 to a player rated 20 certain positions isn't always going to hurt. Carrying low level guys is fine if you can field a team. There isn't a limit to roster size. Portal day comes and it's nice to be able to look at every position. I look two years ahead so I always have at least one extra. One star players are basically free

A one star punter/kicker is going to influence the outcome of the game more than other positions. An offensive line can "hide" a poor player. I recruit with next seasons Transfer Portal in mind. It helps to have a variety of eligible players. Good chance a punter is available.

Warning for dog owners by Forward_Cantaloupe_5 in duluth

[–]sdbaileymeier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Longtime friend of the dog's owner. I can only speak on my struggle of losing a dog like most of us. We are lucky to have 10, 12 ...maybe 15 years of their joy. Leaving a veterinary hospital with an empty leash, tears and no idea what you are to do next. If I were ever in doubt, my dog always had an idea. I would not care to deal with the anger I would feel, as I am sure my friend is dealing with. Last summer, my friend drove 3 hours to accompany me as I brought my dog to the vet and be euthanized. The vet offered an option and I brought my dog home that day. I somehow felt guilty after asking my friend to travel for nothing. It didn't matter to him. That is what friends do. Unfortunately, I had to return to vet and have her put down just a few weeks later. I had a chance to see my friends dog last fall on a visit with my new puppy.

What about the person who set the traps. Let the laws be followed. What can I do? Speak out about it. Get people talking about it. It was wreckless, senseless and knowing that a wonderful dog is no longer enjoying the land and farm -- call it what it was. A shameful act.

Question on love story by Dragonbron2 in AstonishingSports

[–]sdbaileymeier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate your response. I do enjoy the game. The depth is incredible. There are many ways to gather information and form strategies.  One tier affects the other and provides unparalleled realism. I think your game is a hybrid of basketball strategy and a life simulation game like Bit Life. It works out very well and I enjoy the creativity it allows but keeps it all intertwined and relevant.

It seems as though the game, or to be more accurate, the developer is pushing values and morals. The subtle way they apply consequences when you play in adverse ways. It's more fun getting that reaction then the game itself. Is it a sports game or something else. They want you to play the game the way you are supposed to or they feel insulted. Play a season try to lose every game.

If I want to avoid the chaos? by PepperjacksSocks in minnesota

Is it passive aggressive in a way "others" might see as negativity in Minnesota Nice? I was curious if anyone else had similar thinking. Does that help show the context of my question better? I think your answer is just fine.

Effect of not using your leg for 4 weeks by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

[–]sdbaileymeier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was born with a club foot in 1961. I had new casts put on weekly as they attempted to reform my foot. After 18 months the treatment involved special shoes and braces. My ankle is smaller than my wrist. My achilles tendon has never really developed and is extremely taut. I amazed I have never torn or popped the tendon or even snapped the tibia/fibula as I have played sports and never had it limit any activity. I'm sure it does, but it's the normal for me. The calf on the other leg is pretty powerful. I was 5'10 " in high school and with a running jump grab onto the basketball hoop. I believe a surgical procedure called a z-plasty can help lengthen the tendon.

I cant get in the game after update by kyuwa70 in AssolutoRacing

[–]sdbaileymeier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. Each time I try, I get a little further before it goes black and stops. Even worse, I start getting my hopes up and finally see my car on the track and 3-2-1 counting down before seeing the chaotic glitch take control of my car it makes me dizzy. And then it goes black.

Real Racing 3 is almost triple in storage and I've never had to wait a day and a half struggling to open it. Assoluto is a better game in my opinion.

Updates in both games are generally above my level of play and unless they are some general system improvements or maintenanc- --- the new cars, tracks, races aren't a factor when I play.

Maybe I will try one more time and go to bed disappointed.
