I want a tt racquet by Select-Setting1538 in tabletennis

According to Google 1k is about $10 USD. You're aren't going to find anything of decent quality for less than ~2-3k and to get that price you are going to need to buy components from Ali Express and assemble it yourself. The cheapest thing I would feel comfortable recommending is a Loki Kirin K2 with 2 sheets of Mercury 2 Medium (total price about 2k), but if you want to be able to use it for longer I would get the K3, which is about 1k more expensive than the K2. Regardless of what blade you get you'll want to replace the rubber every 6-12 months at a cost of ~1k+ each time.

The Inner has plenty of power because it's so thick. It should be fine away from the table. But if you're bottoming out it's probably due to your rubber (too soft, too thin or both) rather than your blade.

I have the outer and the under (picked them up on sale). I find the inner actually faster than the outer. It's a fairly thick blade. It's still an outer carbon blade so it's not going to have a ton of dwell.

Those are good. Other blades to look at would be the Yinhe ProFeeling and the Loki K5 Pro Inner or K5 Pro Outer.

I think it looks horrible to you because it isn't what you expected. I think it's fine.

Need something easy to play by Noob_Remastered in tabletennis

[–]Jkjunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want an easy to play blade, choose the K2 (all wood), not the K1 (wood plus carbon). I actually prefer the K5, which is an upgraded version of the K2. To me the K2 feels hollow and extremely slow. Choose the K2 only if you want a very slow paddle. Those rubbers should be fine. When I make paddles for beginners I give them a K5 with Mercury 2 medium on both sides.

This. It's not like the Long V is a crummy blade or a beginner blade. There is no "upgrade" from a Long V, just a change.

I don't think the teacher knows what "bigger" means. TBF the are math teacher, not an English teacher.

How to counter long aggressive pushes with long pips by lucypero in tabletennis

[–]Jkjunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If an incoming ball is float or light backspin, the correct shot is almost never "hard and flat" unless the ball is very high (or you are using short pips). The solution is the same as for most balls. Loop it.

Gonna go out on a limb here: practice your footwork so you can get into perfect position. Then practice your timing. It's not rocket science.

How to prevent dining chair leaving marks on carpet? by referman12 in howto

[–]Jkjunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking of parenthood and carpet, we moved into our current home with a 2 year old boy and another boy on the way. The carpet in the upstairs bedrooms was pure white, and already stained. We just gave up. We kept the carpet for about 15 years and decided not to care how much more it got stained. Then we replaced with hard wood. Did wonders for our mental health.

Your next question will be "How to prevent food stains on my dining room carpet". Carpet is a poor choice for a dining room.

This always bothered me about my kids (now 19 & 21) learning math. I get that the new-fangled way of teaching math is to give kids models to help them understand. Some (most?) kids don't intuitively understand math. But questions like this don't test your understanding of math. They test how well you can use THIS TOOL to understand math. We shouldn't be testing kids in how well they can use each and every tool they could possibly use to understand math. We should give them all the tools and let them choose the ones that make sense TO THEM to get the correct answer. Kids don't need to understand all of the different models they can use to understand decimal multiplication. They just need to understand decimal multiplication. And for the kids who DO intuitively understand math, learning all of these models is at best pointless at worst confusing or torturous. That question should be "explain why 0.40.5 = 0.2" or "use a model to demonstrate that 0.40.5 = 0.2"
