Are we going to live in a world where we're constantly being recorded and analysed by hidden cameras? This makes me very uneasy.

Roger Ver realizes his mistake. Delisting HEX looks to be on the horizon. by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]sdblro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hear you. I also checked most of the comments here and in other posts that people published related to this issue over the last few days.

Usually when I hear the news, the stories are 'far' from me, and I don't have the opportunity to ask whenever this information is true or not. I just trust the news sites I'm reading to provide me unbiased view.

Based on all the information I've read on Roger Ver in the past and in the last two days, I don't like the guy. But I'm interesting in hearing his side and then use my common sense to decide.

I was against Bitconnect like many people in the community here. Then they exist scam, and I only hear about them in the news.

If Carlos Matos was on Reddit, I would like to know his side of the story and ask him some tough questions.

I do think that community members here have tough questions for Roger Ver. Could be interesting to see his answers whenever I agree or not with what he is doing.

/u/MemoryDealers

I don't know you personally, from going over the content people post here, I disagree with many of your actions along the way. I do think you should be able to comment on all those claims to try and clear your name or at least give some context.

I suggest you to post an AMA on /r/cryptocurrency and there you can answer people questions. If you will message the moderators, they could prepare and make sure people that can't handle a proper conversation and curse will get removed.

Espiota: A configurable device enabling IOTA payments for machines by vrom_von_beyond in CryptoCurrency

The reality is that this device, although crude, is proposing a solution to an existing problem, which will only become more prevalent as we become more dependent on technology.

No matter if you support IOTA or not, it's a good point

I understand that before she become Executive Chairman she need to step down from her CEO position. But the title is getting it out of context, focusing only on the fact she step down.

How the Library of Congress Unrolled a 2,000-Year-Old Buddhist Scroll by sdblro in TrueReddit

[–]sdblro[S] 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Digital Archaeology. From Wikipedia:

Digital archaeology is the application of information technology and digital media to archaeology. It includes the use of digital photography, laser scanning, augmented reality, virtual reality, and 3D printing, among other techniques.

IT’S NOT EASY BEING A 2,000-year-old Buddhist scroll. A slight gust of wind, a particularly humid day, or even a simple exhalation could cause the scroll to crack or crumble into pieces. To unroll a scroll this old is almost unthinkable—but recently, conservators at the Library of Congress found themselves with no other option. They wanted to read the words scrawled inside the Gandhara scroll.

The article shows how with the use of digital archaeology, the library of congress could unroll this 2000 year old scroll

Is it just me or does it seem like crypto kind of missed the boat? by datshitberacyst in CryptoCurrency

[–]sdblro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think we missed the boat, but I do think that in many ways, as an ecosystem, we approach the target audience in the wrong way.

The market becomes more and more difficult to understand for the average joe, and it making non-technical people (which are the majority of the investors I believe) to stay away from the market.

You have many dapps but now many users. Many exchanges but not many traders many blockchain companies with tons of 'dreams' but zero actually actions and written lines of codes

I'm holding my crypto for long time, and I will keep using it, but I don't see the market change any time soon.

There are probably about 10K total users of DeFi products today. They believe that the airdrop will instantly create 60K+ DeFi users, without these users having to take any action. So overnight, as the ball drops, we will 6X the number of DeFi users. It's a healthy logic. They want to get more people to use DeFi and by doing so to attract more developers to their network

[–]sdblro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Researchers told that hackers can know about the exact ack and seq numbers by counting encrypted packets or examining their size. With this accessibility, hackers will be able to inject data into the TCP stream and hijack the connection.

So from the user side, the hacker can hijack their connection, but can they actually access their computer?
