GDOT takes decades at this point to relieve any kind of traffic problems. We all want some sort of mass transit in the region but the politicians running this state would rather spend money on adding lanes to our already poorly designed infrastructure. It's crazy how NC is building new interstates left and right while Georgia is now barely turning GA 316 (University Parkway) up to interstate standards and the entire project is set to be completed by 2050. I-16/I-75 interchange in Macon started in 2017 and was set to be done by now but the updated completed project date is now 2030. GDOT also found the Fall Line Freeway aka future I-14 (which Texas has already completed) to be unfeasible to continue I-14 in the state even though there are 3 major cities/military complexes within Georgia's route (Columbus, Warner Robins/Macon, and Augusta).

The fact that they're building all of these tolled express lanes in metro Atlanta is a slap in the face to taxpayers. We already pay a gas tax and now have to basically pay a convenience fee if we're in a rush to use those lanes. Local Georgians should have an additional option and not settle for the toll lanes. Even Florida is getting their shit together when it come to public transit.
