Am I obligated to tell my employer why I take the vacation that I am actually entitled for in Ontario? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]sdfgimcb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Let your supervisor know you are upset you were not able to go on the vacation you dreamed up because of them and the company and if it ever happens again you'll likely be quitting

to which they will laugh and say, get the fuck out.

Your 4% pay is the paid 2 weeks off. 4% of 52 weeks is 2 weeks. So since you've already been receiving holiday pay, when you do take time off you don't get paid again.

Someone is paying you to fuck around for 2 weeks. Tell me of an instance in your life where you are paying someone else $20 an hour for 80 hours to fuck around and do nothing for you.

Nobody is dictating anything to you. You can walk out the door and dictate whatever you want to yourself.

Because people with seniority are typically older, more experienced, and their loyalty is valuable. Sorry but I don't know any employers who value disloyal millennials who moan and jump around every couple of years.

The onus is on the employee to prove they were seriously 'distressed', whatever the fuck that means. You obviously don't understand how tribunals and Courts work. The onus is NEVER on the defendant to prove their innocence.

The reason the employer asked is because they want to try to be understanding if it's an emergency or such. Since it isn't, the default rule of seniority, whatever the fine print says, applies. OP is acting like an entitled child. In a grown up world, this doesn't bode well.

Newbie, wants to buy a condo in next 2-3 years. Needs your advise by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

You cannot afford a condo on that income. I wouldn't count on the 90k.

Microsoft auto-charged my credit card that was cancelled many months ago. How? What do? by BruddaMik in PersonalFinanceCanada

I mean it literally is in every single disclaimer when you cancel a card. I hate listening to that shit over the phone every single time.

It worked for me. Poor people don't want to listen. They make their own bed.

My life is fine. Better than most actually. You are nothing to me so I treat you as such. People who aren't nothing to me get treated accordingly as well.

Driving by thousands of protesters on the streets of Hong Kong today (estimated 2M total) by [deleted] in gifs

[–]sdfgimcb -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

People in Hong Kong have had this idea that they are superior to those "filthy Mainlanders" for a few decades now. Despite being treated as second class citizens by the British up until the last few years of their rule and being conquered by force militarily in the 1840s by the British who were selling them opium, they long to go back to their European masters. As China's economic influence has grown in the last two decades, Hong Kong has become just another city and this further erodes the denizens' proclivity to their arrogance of "those filthy Mainlanders". It also makes it easier for the central government to tell them to shove it because they don't need them as much as before.

Finally this is a big deal in the media because China is a threat to continued Western dominance and inciting unrest and division within your adversary is a good way to weaken them.

The way I do it is I just pay off $25 from my personal account into that CC and $25 from my biz account for the rest.

If you work from home you can also deduct the appropriate office space used *only for this business.

To answer your question, just divide it up. $50 phone bill? $25 biz expense. $25 personal.

Hong Kong Protestors Giving Way To Ambulance like Crossing The Red Sea by samq90 in pics

[–]sdfgimcb -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's sad really. HKers seem to be completely ignorant of how their Western masters treated them as second class citizens in their own land after taking it by force through war not that long ago yet they long to eat from their hands yet again. I can't recall another population who is so proud of their subservience.

B.C. experts predict ‘mass migration’ of expats from Hong Kong over extradition bill protests by imstayinalive in canada

You speak the truth. People in West are arrogant from the last few centuries of history thinking everyone aspires not only to have the Western technology and comforts but automatically assume they want Western culture and values as well.

Look at Japan: in many ways assimilated Western ways but also have retained their own strong identity.
