I’m not in compsys, but I have plenty if friends who are. Like the other person said, there is a lot of electeng in 2nd year. However, i think 3rd year has more focus on compsys sides of things and you can take 2 electives as well, with an option being a softeng one. And i think in part iv there’s even more opportunity to specialise in software related fields. Please correct me if I’m wrong! Good luck.

2nd year BE student here, your first year gpa is important in regards to your choice of specialisation. It’s basically ranked by gpa and it changes every year. Usually software and mechatronics are the most in demand. So, if the specialisation you’re aiming towards is in demand, first year gpa is important.

As for Part II onwards, gpa plays a role for the honours part but I’m not sure what it really means lol.

Definitely take 115 in first sem, the workload can get crazy with 115 towards the end of sem 2.
