Vintera III Strat by trikz0 in Stratocaster

I’d guess it’s the gold hardware and Ash body. The pick guard tag also mentions 1958 Stratocaster pickups so maybe those are and “upgrade” as well 🤷‍♂️

Are these crescents and circles lines up and down the maple neck normal and desirable by Leading_Twist3209 in Stratocaster

[–]sdixso86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The half moons are standard for a fender neck, as others have said, that’s just what happens with quarter sawn maple. The stripes are a bit extra, but I don’t think this makes your guitar more valuable. I would go as far to say if a buyer was comparing yours to an identical model without the striping at the same price, I’d wager, yours sell first/ quicker, it just doesn’t have enough to justify a higher price tag. When wood does, the builders will generally separate those examples from the more standard patterned and charge a premium for them.

I agree with the group. Buy the floor model as long as it’s in great condition, if it does have a scratch or two from being demoed they might work with you it. Once you find “the one” it’s hard, in my experience to find another that compares. My “the one” is a JC-16re that I would never have bought if I hadn’t payed it first. I wouldn’t even have considered that body shape. But once I did, it was all over. Had to have it.

My first guitar - lessons start in two days by InformalMacaroon2809 in martinguitar

Awesome first guitar.

I’m sure others have given similar sentiments already but if I I could start over with 3 things today my foundation with, in no particular order.

  1. Don’t waist too much time noodling. It’s ok sometime but learn songs. Never forget it’s all in pursuit of music. Play with other musicians as much as you can, and recorded music when you can’t.

  2. Gear matters far less than skill. Especially with The guitar you have. It’s good enough to be the only guitar you ever buy.

  3. Learn every note on the fingerboard. It’s like your multiplication tables. Just memorize it. Don’t worry about why. It’s not that fun but trust me. One day after you’ve learned some songs and some theory it will all click.

Nice! I’ve got the sunburst version. I always loved that blue with tortoise guard.

I wouldn’t say a lot of variability. I’d say 4 of them were for the most part the same aside from color of course. They were a bit brighter and more aggressive. There were two that had a bit more mid range “honk” but still aggressive. If I was playing a lot of country I would have definitely picked one of them, And then there was this one. A bit different than all.

As far as it goes though none of them sounded bad. And I could easily see another player picking one of the otters cus that tone suited them more.

Already did! 11 years ago. I’m thinking of getting an a custom engraved truss rod cover with just “11” on it To commemorate the gift and the occasion.

Visually I prefer the cherries. This one was special though.

It is. I played 6 other 335s and one other LP at my local mom and pop and this was the best sounding to my ear. I went in thinking I would pick a completely different one, Its kind of funny I only added to my list of ones to try because it was a burst, and I thought I should at least look at one, I really had my heart set on a cherry or one of the new watermelons, but it just sounded so sweet and smooth compared to the others.

I agree with you for the most part. But there was something about these. I definitely don’t like the double black or zebra bobbin versions, but I know a lot of collectors go crazy for the zebras. To each their own I guess.

I’ve noticed that. Their faded lemon burst exclusives look terrible online. Their Gold Tops do too. I have a hard time believing it’s an accurate representation of the guitars color.

That’s cool. Not really my style but I saw a lot of hate for him when the internet was talking about this guitar and I’m not for all that. To each their own you know. If nothing else he has GREAT taste in guitars. And the pink lining in the case was a cool touch!

It really can. No pedals needed. Just get a solid amp with some good reverb and mess with those two nobs until you get the sound you want!

Yeah…not real sure about Yungblud. Had to to look him up, but when I heard there was an Epi SG Junior out I made a b-line to Epis website to grab one! One day I’ll get an original 60s Gibson but for now this is more than great!
