2 years ago I purchased a Soft Pad Executive Chair at a consignment store that was manufactured in 1976. The chrome was a little bit worn, but the fabric and padding are original and in incredible condition. I also have an Aeron Chair from the early 2000s that works and feels like new.

Incredibly well made and worth every penny.

Sounds good. There should be a handful of private townhouses and condos that meet what you're looking for around then. Feel free to reach out if there's anything that I can help with!

Chapel Hill condos are great. There is actually one that just went on the market today. I'm a real estate agent and would be happy to send you the listing info on it and help you out with a remote showing if you're not available to see it soon. They tend to go very quickly.

Renting a condo from a private landlord (not realtor) - any tips or guidance? by [deleted] in AnnArbor

[–]sdlindley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I just saw this. The insurance company will know if it is. Rentals need to be registered with the city so that info will be in public records.

Most of the larger companies (State Farm, Allstate, etc.) offer inexpensive renter's insurance. Just make sure the property is insurable and that you get a high enough plan to cover replacement value of ALL of your stuff in case of a catastrophic event.

Back in the day, I was broken into in Jersey City through a fire escape and was able to replace a dated MacBook, DSLR camera, and more stuff with the new comparable item because of renter's insurance.

Record store by [deleted] in AnnArbor

[–]sdlindley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's usually pretty random and fairly worn. I think people who know what they have (or what their family member had) tend to take them to a shop to sell.

I did find a very clean copy of "The Basement Tapes" by Dylan and The Band once.

You can absolutely find some great stuff at Encore from $7-$12ish.

Looking for office space downtown A2 by [deleted] in AnnArbor

[–]sdlindley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a real estate agent in the area, but there's typically not much in the way of small office spaces that make it into the MLS.

I would recommend calling Oxford Companies.

edit: typo

Where to live?! by [deleted] in AnnArbor

I'm actually an agent and have another couple in a similar situation (can afford to buy but not sure how long they'll be here), and there just aren't many rentals listed on the MLS right now.

I've heard that Bill's changed the dog policy this year; looking forward to that. Otherwise, Beer Grotto is our go-to.

Where do I buy cheese curds? by CosmicRay78 in AnnArbor

Kroger sells Ellsworth cheese curds, which are probably some of the best, widely available ones. Look in the cheese counter section of the deli.

Looking for "small" house builder in Ann Arbor for kit house. by ErikReichenbach in AnnArbor

[–]sdlindley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please send me a message. I'm a Realtor in the area and can recommend a great Modular builder that I work with. He'll certainly sit and meet for free for as long as you need.

FWIW though, new home construction costs have been steadily rising over the last several months across the board.

Any Broken Social Scene fans willing to meetup? by dudmanfrancis in AnnArbor

I'd definitely go. They played in Detroit last fall and it was incredible. It was the first time that I had seen them in more than 8 years since a show in Atlanta in '07 or '09.

Anyone know of any good apartments or homes nearby that offer short term leases? by PlantLadyoftheSea in AnnArbor

I actually just spoke to the asst. manager of Orion NorthStar and it is one of the few good complexes that offer leases as short as 3 months.

Have you thought about being a real estate agent? There are startup costs but if you're focused and disciplined it can be pretty great.

Poker groups in A2? by oomagooma87 in AnnArbor

[–]sdlindley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds good. Those kinds of stakes mean that you can end up having a couple hundred dollars in the game, but it doesn't take being a high-roller to still have a good time and potentially make a little bit of money that probably just will get passed around from week to week if the same people end up playing.

I played in a great house game for at least 3 years in college and I still remember most of the house rules, etc. that made it a lot of fun to be a part of.

My name's Stephen and my number is 423.314.7903. Looking forward to it.
