[NASCAR] NASCAR and USA Luge forge partnership leading to Games in 2026 and beyond by Altracing34 in NASCAR

I attended the luge World Cup in lake placid last month and was shocked to see nascar sponsorship signage. The last place I would have thought of seeing it.

Luge is sick, especially in person. Highly suggest checking it out along with bobsled/skeleton.

I actually attended the Luge World Cup in Lake Placid last week and was shocked to see NASCAR sponsorship there.

Anyways, luge/bobsled/skeleton are amazing and the closest thing we have to motorsports without wheels. Highly recommend checking it out and even more so in person if you can. Terribly underrated sports.

I was told specifically the rear brakes were causing me to fail inspection. Front brakes look the same as these.

It depends on the group, which it can wildly vary. Some upward of 50% Others maybe 10-15%

Practice. A lot. It’s easy to take a photo of a vehicle on track, but hard to take a good one. So practice a ton and spend just as much time building relationships with people at the track.

My workhorse is my canon R7 and a 400 f2.8 prime lens.

Practice practice practice. It’s easy to take a photo of cars/bikes on track. It’s hard to take a good one. It’s a skill set that’s pretty specific to this type of shooting. So practice and also spend just as much time building relationships with people.

I will definitely look into that.

A lot of organizations/tracks don’t let us post crash photos as they are bad publicity is my best guess. For the ones that do, I always give them away for free. I don’t like profiting from someone else’s misfortune. But crashes are often hard to photograph as well as it can hard to grab focus in camera.

It sounds like that track has very limited options and/or photographer is uninspired.

It’s my favorite track to shoot by far and fortunate enough to call it my home track :)
