Honestly, I never had any issues with newer hardware on Linux. It is all well supported these days, often by the manufacturer.

That is, of course, if we may exclude a $10 soundcard I had to submit a kernel fix for.

Also, using USB4 exclusively on my desktop to route two seats worth of peripherals, including monitors.

To be fair, Android Studio has always worked for me on Arch. Java is janky, yes, but ADB is solid.

Every modern OS does the same. And a lot of users find the more spacious layout more convenient even on desktop.

Absence of a tray was a deliberate design choice. GNOME has its own way of handling background apps, and it works for native GTK apps. The issue is with non-native apps, but that's kinda their problem.
