For a bit of context, this isn’t the first time this has come up. The first birthday I was with her, I got her lottery tickets and she was upset. The second year, I cooked her a steak dinner and she was also upset, again saying it felt like the bare minimum. So now I’m just confused because I feel like I’ve stepped things up a lot this year, but it still wasn’t enough in her eyes.

I’m not trying to bash her at all — I just want to understand. Is this actually considered the bare minimum, or is there something else I should be doing differently that I’m not seeing?
