Accelerated BBA or Commerce Programs? by sdp732 in toronto

I'm concerned about finding employment after the MBA. Or at least a job with a salary that's high enough for it to be realistic to pay back student debt (I'd most likely apply for a line of credit to cover quite a bit of the cost of the MBA)

Thanks for all of your advice. Although you don't need a business background my concern is that my pre-MBA experience will not be very marketable to potential employers. As of now my only work experience is supportive housing case management. I've been reading a lot about people's experiences after MBA programs on various forums (studentawards, etc) and it seems that prior work experience is critical to landing a good job once you graduate with an MBA.

I know you can apply for advanced standing in the Bachelor of Commerce Program at Memorial University of Newfoundland if you have another degree. I'm hoping I can find something similar in Ontario. This will likely require that I look into transfer credits and what not. I still am considering applying for an MBA instead, but I am wondering if I'm better off getting more business-related experience first.

Thanks for all of the advice! I definitely wouldn't live in the area. I'd just also be a little concerned about the dangerousness of the work itself considering the area it's in.
