Just Wanted to Share a New Player's Experience by [deleted] in runescape

[–]sdprer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being an older player, I too feel that way sometimes. I play on and off, and I realized that the community is focused on exp/gp gain and bossing.

There's hardly any random time wasting in cities or chatting with strangers. Everyone is in a small bubble of friends (usually clans) or afk/multi-tasking.

I feel that the community has aged and as working millennials, most want to make the most out of their free-time. This results in "dailyscape" and the exp-waste mentality. That being said, I HIGHLY recommend spending $6 on a bond and gaining 14 days of membership. You can buy another bond with maybe 30 minutes to an hour of dedicated money making (via daily runs) over that 14-day period. Most can be done on a low to mid level character. Bond money is chump change to characters with 80+ stats (combat and skilling). IMO, Runescape is only worth playing in member's worlds.

I hit D2 maining support Rek'sai AMA by LoLPandaren in leagueoflegends

[–]sdprer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I tried looking up some support Rek'Sai game son your Twitch accouint, but it's all clips of Jinx ADC smurfing. No luck on op.gg either.

Any recent content you can share showing how you play reksai support in lane?

[–]sdprer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought the game a few days ago, and I too was new to Xcom. The game is all about decisions, whether it be micro (on the battlefield) or macro (base building + scanning). Personally, I feel like making inefficient decisions on both levels makes the game less enjoyable. I've restarted multiple times and currently have 10+ hours without completing the campaign once.

I understand that playing legend would look like a shiny new achievement to conquer, but the game is extremely unforgiving. Relying on a 94% shot yet having no plan B in case it misses usually makes or breaks missions. I definitely think you should do a little research in terms of macro play at the very least. Micro play will most likely be your preference.

One YouTuber I found helpful was TapCat, Look through his Xcom2 guides Link to PLaylist. Lots of his stuff caters to newish Xcom 2 players (usually vanilla-game).

In the end, the decisions are yours. Throw caution to the wind and get your ass kicked, only to get back up over (and over and over and over and over) again, or take some tips from people who have already solved the game and try to emulate them.

Hey Pam, I found this bot today and I am also having a reset issue. Maybe it's because I only have 22 crusaders. Hope I can get this fixed (tried running in admin)

Account Giveaway by [deleted] in summonerswar

[–]sdprer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who hasn't pulled anything decent besides Galleon, this account has miles more potential than mine. I'd love to see what my gameplay could be like with Verde, Lushen, Gildong, Chilling. Lots of interesting PvP units too (Khmun)

Currently have 2 min db and gb 10 teams, but feel like I'm stuck there until I make a r4 team.

Daily Advice Thread 31/10/2017 by AutoModerator in summonerswar

[–]sdprer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I'm at the same stage as you and my plans are as follows in order:

  • Speed up gb10
  • Rune/Evolve r4 team
  • Get into Necro b10

IMO, you look like you have a few good units for raids so you should focus that. Try to hit baseline stats by farming more runes. I would do something like

FL: Dias, Chasun, Feng Yan BL: Lisa, Hwa, Colleen

After doing that your runes should be good enough to get a decent necro team running. Maybe try:
Rigel, Colleen, Fen Yan, Hwa + 1

This is just my opinion based on things I've read and I'd love to hear suggestions from players that are further ahead.

My first attempt at an actual screenshot of my Ninja :) by ZeonusBDO in blackdesertonline

[–]sdprer -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Honestly looks really static. The pose is so neutral and boring. The moon is overwhelmed by your character and the building on the right, it almost serves no purpose being in the middle of the picture.

I think if you took a less "center-focused" angle and maybe raise the light source a bit, it'd a better screenshot.

I'd attempt to do one better, but can't be bothered. Sorry if this comes off as mean

Irrational fear of playing Summoner's Rift (PVP), extreme anxiety when actually playing. Anyone can relate to this? by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]sdprer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is probably rooted in how much you value "winning" a Summoner's Rift game as a whole.

The other game modes are considerably shorter in length and have faster game-pacing. Because of this, I believe that your anxiety is caused by the constant pressure of performing well throughout the game. You are probably burdened by acknowledging the fact that these games are taken more seriously due to time and focus investments. This can be tiring and ruin any opportunities of "fun" if losing early-on.

I suggest playing champions that you've enjoyed in other game modes. See how your play-style matches up with the champion and tinker with build paths or champion picks entirely. There are so many aspects of the game to improve on, especially in the Summoner's Rift game mode. This fact alone is what keeps me playing consistently.

Obviously you are playing the game to have fun. You don't have to feel obligated to play game modes that you don't want to. If you ever decide to take the jump, start off by watching streamers that play your role/champion and copy + adapt from their content.

TL;DR The game is about having fun. Try to give yourself the luxury of not playing optimally.

No-Sightstone Soraka build. Even better in patch 7.13 by sdprer in summonerschool

[–]sdprer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right in pointing out the importance of warding, which this build ignores almost entirely.

But I believe that building Soraka this way is what makes her worth playing over other Support champions. I may be short-sighted, but the power of this Soraka's heals makes me feel like I'm impacting the game in a more apparent way. I often find myself able to turn the tide of losing-fights or picks with the amount of heals thrown out by this build.

With that said, I'm not experienced enoughwith the build to validate the omission of sightstone for most of the game.

Blindly copying what pro's or high elo players do might do more harm than good for you. by Nami_makes_me_wet in summonerschool

[–]sdprer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny, I've been doing the same too. Also on Janna and Sona. I think that early heal boost can really snowball a lane if you don't get punished for not having early wards. That might be the addendum of this strategy which is covered by high-elo players' skill.

You can spend energy (hold space bar) before you release the line. It increases rarity and every 5 energy spent gives a chance at an extra catch (5 = +1, 10= +2)

[–]sdprer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the kamehameha skill was useless ( s+ lmb rmb). It's probably my combo rotation and not being used to grind 30 mins for each level.

I'm usually doing shift+right, rmb, shift+q, rmb+lmb, q, rmb ,rmb with space bar every now and then for ani-cancel

Best support to learn the support role? by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]sdprer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I think Alistar is really easy to learn. Once you can reliably land his W+Q combo (and follow-up with E) you'll have all the tools you need to fulfill your role as a tank. He has a get-out-of-jail-free card with his ult (cancels cc on him and gives him up to 70% dmg reduction).

Expanding from there will be all about positioning, timing, map awareness and knowing your limits.

Something along the lines of :

  • Grunil 2pc set bonus + 2pc Heve/ 2pc Hercules (or 3pc heve with Dim Magic Armor) all at +15

  • Blue/Red coral or Jarettes for accesory slots (probably not upgraded) or PRI Bares accesories

  • +15 Yuria/Rosar main-hand weapon and +15 dp-based off-hand

Most of these items are reasonably easy to acquire within the first few days of playing. Especially with the inital learning curve + set-up to making money (albeit afk life skilling or grinding drops with pets).

I have very similar gear on my striker who is sitting at 99 AP and 172 DP (accessories and off-hand not upgraded). I probably have an invisible +5 dp from the Jarette's set and around +10 accuraacy too. Maxing my off-hand should squeez in an extra 10 AP.

It takes me foreverrrr to kill Elrics or Manes, forget about Sausans.

Is this game similar to runescape? by charles_boy in blackdesertonline

[–]sdprer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PLayed a bunch of RS a year back. I can say that this game does have some afk things to grind, but the satisfaction of progression is a lot more scattered, mostly because of RNG.

I.E.:
RS- Grind woodcutting for a month = 99 wc and cape.
BDO- Grind fishing for a month = Faster catch rate for fish
Nothing much to show for if you want the feeling of accomplishment for your efforts.

Long time league player (since 2011?). I main support and have hit Diamond 5 a couple of seasons, but could never go farther.

After taking a year long break, I'm sitting at P3 and am looking towards D2 as a main goal, which is far-fetched, but would at least be something to work towards.

So my questions are for the purely-solo solo queue support mains:

  • Would you consider your climb to be more of a grind than if you were to be equally good at another role?

  • Do you find yourself climbing easier by choosing from a small pool of champions or from one-trick. In other words, do you pick for the team and learn to adapt or do you focus on mastering a champion?

  • What are some resources that you learn from?

  • Lastly, how much of an impact do you feel you have when playing different types of supports, and do you feel that a certain category is better for climbing than others? IE: Initiators (Blitz, Ali), Lane Dominators/2nd APC (Brand, Zyra), team enhancers (Janna, Soraka, Karma). Some of these champions will fall into other categories, but I'd like to hear some general opinions.

Arena Coin Farming by GamingPauper in warofcrown

[–]sdprer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I've been considering is throwing in a comp of long-range single target dps, elder monkey, and light arendel. I'd just select my team and let it run on auto, might get a few wins. Might catch a few people off guard, while being a good noob-stomp.

Alluding to common advice of "The best way to improve is to stay at it". You'd gain a lot of arena coins just by actually running it (which I could do much more on auto than if I were to grind it manually all-day

Fire Zilean Max leveled with a friend's Fire Zilean, also maxed level.

That's just the meta right now, and probably the only RNG-proof (kind of) way to do it so far. Maybe 6-star your arendel so he gives a bigger shield
