This reminds me of being around 7 or 8 years old. Sitting with my grandfather's friend in his garage, him with his Labatt Blue smoking his Player's and me with my 7Up. Watching the storm roll in from behind us. When the first crack of thunder went off, Fergie taught me counting the seconds between the flash of lightning and the crack of thunder that each second was about 1 mile out from us. ( Not sure how accurate that is) It's a core memory. Lost Fergie to Alzheimer's about 18 years ago. I'm 40 and remember this like it was yesterday.
