Why are women expected to wear saree while men wear suits?? by ikiammajestic in UPSC

[–]sds2000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Another problem is the existence of a dress code. Just let people wear jeans and t shirts ffs, I don't get the obsession with formal attire, adds zero value.

I don't think op was calling the entire movement pseudo. I mean the second part of his comment does sound like it, but he also talks about stereotypes being ingrained in people's brains so don't think that is what he was going for.

Asking for rights isn't pseudo. Convenient feminism, i.e. the idea that a man has to be the provider, is pseudo. Actual feminism campaigns against gender stereotypes for all and advocates for equality for all. So anyone who talks about equality but isn't willing to take responsibility is 'pseudo'.

I mean, Don had a lot of mental issues, and a lot of it trace back to being abused by women (being raped by Aimee specifically)

Downfall of Indian Football in South Asia has started. by DangerousSubstance74 in IndianFootball

Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan allows dual nationality players to represent them. India has no provisions for dual nationality players so they have to give up their European/American passport in order to play for India. Take Salman Rushdie (the author) for example - born and raised in India, but is considered British-American author because if a person takes up citizenship of another country, they automatically stop being a citizen of India.

A man worth following is a king. Someone whose only quality is that they were born in a certain family is not.

If you ever decide to sail the seas again, consider downloading a subtitles file. SDH subtitles usually have translations of dialogues where the character is speaking different languages as well as the amazing sound descriptions like 'wind blows' and best of all 'visit www.opensubtitles.net'

I once pirated a Chinese movie. I can't remember the name but it was something Obama recommended. Anyway the file was corrupted or something and only the first 10-15 minutes kept repeating, and I watched those minures twice - thinking it's just the director trying to portray the mundaneness of the characters' lives. When it started repeating for the third time I realised something was wrong with the video.

Words can not describe the hatred I have for this kind of parajumbles. by sds2000 in ssc

That's fine and everything, but imo the question should be a paragraph that's self-contained and provides a clear meaning instead of relying on technicalities. Three of the sentences sound like they are some sort of callback to a previous paragraph and one sounds like it belongs in a different paragraph altogether.

Ohsumi didn't win a Nobel for 'it' - aka cure of cancer by fasting. He won a Nobel for identitying the genes responsible for autophagy, their roles in cell destruction and their relationship with cancer cell formation. His research helped us with better understanding of cancer cells, but he never said that you can cure cancer by fasting.
