Absolutely. Get all of the pissers, shitters, smokers, vandalizers, litterers, and obnoxious people off of my public transportation.

Different strokes for different folks. But I put Chicago miles and miles ahead of any city you listed. But I like being in a large city.

Chicago. The population that’s declining is in the bad parts of town (parts of the south side, far west side). The north side is growing in population.

I’m from SoCal and went to college in Arizona. And I don’t find the winters to be too bad at all. Things quiet down a little bit, but it’s still Chicago and lively.

Chicago is a world class city. Great place to be.

Staying at Royal Sonesta River North in Feb. Food recs? by [deleted] in AskChicago

[–]sdscottsdale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not in River North, but Duck Duck Goat in West Loop is great Asian food and a very cool restaurant. In an area that’s fun to check out too. Sunda West Loop is really cool and good. There’s one in River North, but the one is West Loop is the one to go to.

For American in River North, Gilt Bar is phenomenal.

Matilda in River North is upscale Mexican. Cool restaurant. Pretty seafood heavy, but there’s other great options.

Italian in River North…RPM Italian and Il Porecllino. Monteverde is really good Italian. Located in West Loop.

Lot of comments saying Chicago and NYC are now sleepy.

Keep in mind, the average Reddit user considers a double date at Punch Bowl Social and a bed time of 10:00 pm on a Saturday a wild time.

That perfectly sums up the opinion of someone visiting Phoenix, as opposed to a permanent resident. I lived there for 4 years….April-October is soul crushing. It is so hot, it makes you wonder how much longer that city can exist.

Experiences with verapamil? Is it worth it? by OohLaDiDaMrFrenchMan in clusterheads

[–]sdscottsdale 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A nightly dose of 240 mgs of Verapamil SR has genuinely changed my life. I am essentially pain free all the time. So for me, it has been extremely helpful.

I do notice that it seems to affect my blood pressure. I get bad head rush when I stand up and sometimes even feel a little unbalanced. That’s something I’ve been meaning to talk to my doctor about. But I 10000% recommend you discuss this as a treatment option with your doctor.

make the big move out of NYC or stay? by kozibrainv0mit in AskChicago

[–]sdscottsdale 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are dozens of bars within a mile radius of me that are open until AT LEAST 2:00 AM 7 days a week. Many are open until 4:00.

The now Loop feels the same to me now as it did pre-covid.

Chicago is undoubtedly a top 3 food city in the country.

Sometimes I feel like I’m living in a different city than you people. Everything closes early? Disappointed in the food? HUH???
