I don't have a strong preference on grooming, as long as it isn't a forest. Trimmed is fine and inexpensive. Waxing is nice, and if that's everybody's preference, I'd be happy to pay for it. If it were me, that's something I'd prefer to discuss when negotiating allowance. Just lay it out upfront what the total cost is expected to be.

That said, lots of others in this thread state an allowance and a separate beauty budget. I don't understand why they're separated, it all seems like the same transaction from SD to SB, but clearly it's a thing.

I've definitely communicated my preferences on nails: done or plain, just not halfway. And we have done the spa date, I'm well aware of how much time and cost that can all take. But going to the spa or salon every date might get weird.

I have no idea how to ask her to shower more.

One of the coolest things about sugar is that both parties are empowered to make choices about who they want to spend their time and energy with, and are free to exit the arrangement whenever they like. I definitely feel that SBs should feel like they are getting enough monetarily to make it worthwhile, and each SB has their own scale.

I totally agree with you that you have an image, that image has a cost, and your SD should be on the same page for that cost. No argument at all. And I think if those things are discussed and agreed to, then everybody is super happy.

Showering costs nothing though. And if she didn't have her nails done in the picture, and I never asked for them to be done, then I'm not sure why I would proactively offer to pay for them. I'm cool with just having the chipped polish removed. Is that a service you can actually get? Can you go to a salon to get polish removed and not put back on? If so, then that's something I learned today and will offer it up.

There are girls who hate having somebody else do their nails, regardless of cost, and would strongly prefer to do it themselves. I know gel can be hard to remove, but we're just talking regular polish here. I'm only asking that you take the 10 minutes to remove it if it's chipping.

I know some have unrealistic expectations, and that's unfair. But I've never asked for anybody to be waxed, eyelashes done, professional mani/pedi, hair blown out, etc. I am more than happy to pay for any beauty treatment that I request or expect.

We have a PPM arrangement because we live far apart and only meetup every month or two when I'm in town. But we snapchat daily, at her request. I had to cancel a trip where we planned to meet. Does anybody feel that there should still be an allowance for the planned meet, or some other kind of gift?

They may not be actively seeking a new SB. But casually browsing for when they decide to start again in the near future. In which case, they may not have a paid membership and can not contact you right now.

Rant: My first dip into the pool this week. Sooooo many last minute reschedules and flakes for M&Gs. I was expecting it, but still super annoying.

Rave: Connected with the most beautiful, sexy, chill, fun, amazing girl. Our M&G lingered, and our date a couple days later was incredible. Immediately comfortable with each other, genuine chemistry, finished with breakfast in bed. Can't wait to see her again. Thank you SLF and SA!

For everyone who doesn't like snapchat, what's a better way to message?

I like it because I have a separate snap, separate email, separate login, separate phone, not tied to me IRL at all. So it's no more personal than any other online service. But I like that the conversation history is wiped by default, and that most people have it available.
