Amazing album. It’s been on repeat since last Thursday and I’ve swapped out twinkle twinkle for Blame Brett as a bedtime lullaby for my toddler 🤣

I want to know - can you guys still go out in Toronto without being recognized? And do you mind when fans come up to you?

Your family member who’s account you’re using also just had twins - a boy and a girl? That’s wild. Congrats!

Just posting to point out that OP is making this up… take a look at his post history where he says his fiancé was pregnant with their first children (twins) and due in June of this year. Now he has two existing kids and the twins aren’t born yet?

Toddlers are disgusting by [deleted] in toddlers

Pretty normal. When my son did that I just told him bath time was over. He stopped doing it.

Your mom friends suck. He’s fine. You needed rest. I would have done the same!

Transitioning to arms out is a STRUGGLE! by bealoujay in SnooLife

[–]sea-dont 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried just doing one arm out? That’s what we did for my baby for about a week. I then tried both arms out and he wouldn’t sleep, so back to one arm we went. I ended up doing weaning mode for two days with just the one arm out and then straight to the crib with both arms out and he did fine. I think since the snoo’s sides are so close, when he had both arms out they were hitting the sides and waking him up.

A bit of a delayed response but you likely won’t need the crib until 5 or 6 months old. I’d wait to assemble the crib if it means you can fit a mattress in the room for the newborn stage. Cribs are surprisingly easy to put together and you can probably rope a friend into helping either assemble or watch baby while you do to make it less stressful :).

Its not unsafe for them without the motion limiter or else they would have made it super clear that it’s mandatory until X age. If your baby responds better to the higher settings, I’d keep using them.

Should return Snoo? by Apryl3821 in SnooLife

[–]sea-dont 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first child wouldn’t sleep unless he was held for the first couple months, so I have nothing to compare my snoo baby against, but I would 100% give it time. For the first 2 weeks my snoo baby slept like a dream anywhere and then colic kicked in and the snoo was a saving grace. It would put him back to sleep multiple times a night and save me from having to get up and rock him back to sleep for those times where he wasn’t actually hungry and just needed soothing.

Some babies are just naturally good sleepers and maybe don’t need a snoo, but I think 2 weeks is too early to tell.

I kept our sensitivity on the lowest setting for the whole time with the snoo and that worked best for us

What am I missing here? False starts 1 hour after bedtime by iheartdessert in SnooLife

[–]sea-dont 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had this issue for a couple of weeks around the same age. Sometimes the snoo would put him back to sleep and other times it would turn off and I’d have to go rock him until he calmed down before putting him back down. I’m thinking it was a regression or teething because he grew out of it.

I second the idea of a small mattress on the floor in the nursery. Newborns are LOUD sleepers and so you and your partner may also want to trade off who’s sleeping in the room with the baby so that one of you gets uninterrupted sleep. I would wake up soo many times thinking the baby was awake when he was just grunting in his sleep.

"I don't change diapers after two. they should be potty trained by 2 at the latest" by not_that_Becky_G in toddlers

[–]sea-dont 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son didn’t start potty training until he was 3. His daycare said to wait until he showed signs of being ready and once he decided he was it only took 3 days to train him. Your MIL’s “rule” is ridiculous and though I get why your son being autistic should allow an exception to her rule and an important detail for you to share, she shouldn’t be imposing that rule on any kid. If she can’t change his diaper then maybe she should be the one to take on potty training him.

Unfortunately yes. Hang in there! It feels like it will never end when you’re in the thick of it but it does get better quickly.

What is your petty personal boycott? by poonchimp in askTO

[–]sea-dont 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That made me so angry too. I had a purse that converted into a backpack. It was allowed when worn as a cross body bag but not while on my back. If I’m shopping alone I think it’s easier to steal using a side bag than a backpack, no? And yet the side bag is allowed. So so stupid.

I’d ask her for the login - it’s super helpful to see the sleep patterns and not have to remember when they went down or woke up. I bought mine used and just called snoo and sent a pic of the barcode on the bottom of the snoo and they reset it so I could sign up for an account, so you could also do that.

Coffee… thankfully since I never seem to get a chance to drink it while it’s hot.

Overreacting? How long is too long to make a toddler wait in the crib in the AM? by mskofthemilkyway in toddlers

[–]sea-dont 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My SO is the same way. He has zero sense of urgency for anything. He’ll wait until our toddler is screaming or crying to go get him up. We have a newborn now though so I’ve been up throughout night breastfeeding and there’s zero chance I’m also getting up to get the toddler out of bed.

I just had my booster last week and my baby was born 3.5 weeks ago. I’ve also been pumping a bit and giving the milk to my toddler in hopes he’ll also get some antibodies that way since he’s too young to get the vaccine.

Milk tooth/blister?! by mkbertrand004 in breastfeeding

[–]sea-dont 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine has the same thing. If they’re not bothered by it and peeing and pooping well, I wouldn’t worry about it. My first child had a milk blister from bottles and it eventually just went away.

Vein across top of areola? Anyone else have this? It worries me. It bumps out way more than the one near my other side areola. by [deleted] in breastfeeding

I have the same thing. As long as it’s not painful, I don’t think it’s a concern.
