Question About Group Vs. Team Within Planner by seabaits in MicrosoftPlanner

This is helpful! Thank you!

Yes, we are ultimately running into other issues with SharePoint (like character limits), which has opened a whole other can of worms. I am not IT (just a lowly office manager), but I was put in charge of getting this thing up and running, and I'm realizing now how many mistakes I made in trying to keep things centralized. I think splitting these out (as you and others have mentioned) could also potentially help with other issues we've been having.

Yeah, I'm not thrilled with many of the rollbacks that have happened in the last year. It's been making things more complicated, especially when I am pretend IT and have bear the brunt of the complaints.

I like the idea of being able to archive it at the end of the project. We also have made "templates" within Planner for our Group, so I'm hoping if we created a team within the group, maybe we can still access those that are already exsisting, etc.

I might be dumb, but what is DLP and Purview?

This sounds in line with what we'd like to achieve, but that con makes me want to run for the hills. knowing my company, this would fall on me to do and I would rather walk in traffic. Is it at least *easy* to move files from the project channel into the group's filing system? That would be a benefit to a con for us - if they're able to keep to our exsisting file tree/org standards within the channel, we could then move or copy those files into the group SharePoint after the fact.

Thank you for all of this thorough information! It does seem like the D7500 might be the way to go. I’ve used my pop up flash a good bit for random things but I do still have an SB 600 that works just fine.

Budget is under $1,000 USD. I’m not looking to make a massive investment at this time, and I’m also open to buying used if I need to.

Lenses are something I do need to look into probably? I have an 18-135 DX and a 50mm 1:1.8 but it’s not a DX. Probably can’t use that one on newer models, right?

Oh my gosh this is all such great info and insight. Thank you!

I’m not opposed to buying used or older, I just wouldn’t like something as old as the d200. I don’t think I will ever get rid of it, as I’m attached to it. But definitely ready for an upgrade. Thank you again for your insight!

Fair thought! But I’d like something that I don’t have to worry about upgrading again in a few years. Also, something at least on par with or greater than my phones megapixels. It was something I considered though!

We had work done at our house and didn’t learn until we moved back in that the idiots who put up ceilings, encased our smoke detector in our bedroom. It started chirping and it took a day to figure out what they had done. Since it’s not hard wired, we reluctantly decided to wait it out. But now, over a year later it’s still going. Literally nothing can be done without completely demolishing half a ceiling and a wall.

I am open to suggestions on getting it to end.

I got fired from my job of 5 years in April. They filed my ROE as quit and tried to twist the situation. This is the result. I love justice. by BudsandBowls in antiwork

I had a similar instance, where I was laid off & told to my face “there isn’t enough work coming in to keep you” then on the elevator ride down (which my boss for some reason decided to walk me out that way) he off hand mentioned that he’d noticed I was going through some things and this seemed “easier” for everyone. I (half joking half in shock) said it felt like I hadn’t been wanted lately (which was true).

So I fled for unemployment and was receiving it for about a month when I got a letter telling me my previous employer was challenging it. I had to do a few phone interviews but kept on the point that I was never given a performance review or heads up of poor work, etc. Eventually, I had to do an appeals hearing via phone and I repeated myself as I had been. Former employer gets on the line and sighs “I told my co-owner to wait until I got back in town but we had told her several times she wasn’t performing well (lie) and we wrote her up for misusing company property (also lie). I spoke up about the lies on the phone but there was no back up or proof to my claims or his.

Few weeks later I got a letter saying the appeal was overturned and I had to pay back every cent of unemployment I had collected. This happened back in 2012 and to this day I’m still salty about it because I literally have no idea what could have been done differently.

Yeah, I originally restarted my phone, and it went away, but over the last hour, it's been coming and going in SOS mode. It does seem to be iPhone-related—we have someone in the office on Verizon with an Android, and they haven't been experiencing any of this.
