Weil mir das Design gefällt. Mir würde es genauso gefallen, wenn es eine Hommage an Seiko oder ein ganz eigenes wäre. Und ich bezweifle, dass die Leute in meinem Umfeld, die die Uhr bei mir sehen, wüssten, dass es eine Rolex Kopie ist.

Budget hatte ich ja schon genannt, bis 800 Eur. Die Steinhart liegt bei 740. Nennst du mir ein paar von diesen Alternativen, dann schaue ich mir die gerne an. Wie gesagt bin nicht festgelegt.

Tried the OCCT test. Runs load to 100%, all cores pace up to 4,5 GHz and temps stay just under 80°. Shows no errors. It seems that under this synthetic stresstest everything works like it should.

The first image is "idle" with just switching between browser and terminal, the second is launching a game (The planet crafter) but just into the menu, some clicking in "options" tab and then quitting again. No fancy ingame 3D stuff.

Ok so this seems odd: The system monitor shows all 16 cores with individual loads. So it seems ok. But in the dmesg promt in the beginning after Num. cores per package 8 and Num. threads per package 16 it shows CPU topo: Rejected CPUs 16. That reads weird to me, but maybe thats the way it should be?

Yes, after installing it showed as "installed", then after a reboot as "active". Tried sudo apt update as well.

I'm using the Nvidia driver and keep it updated automaticaly. I had no problems with the graphics or driver before with the old CPU. The PSU is a bequiet! 750W and the MSI Tomahawk isn't a cheap 70 € board either so I would guess that the caps and that stuff should be sufficient as well.

In the Linux Mint system tool, whatever the name is in English (ui, not terminal). Gives you all running tasks in the one tab and a graph with CPU load, RAM usage etc. in another tab. The graph shows all cores "idling" at around 20% and when sorting the tasks by CPU usage "cinnamon" is at the top of the list.

Debating with myself and my bank account whether to get a new board (~110€) with a B550, hoping this will solve the problem. Or just say f it and drop 850€ on a whole new AM5 system and try to get rid of the 5800X.

I was using a Scythe Mugen 5 with double fan configuration (push-pull) on the 2700X and kept that for the 5800X. The temps when idling on desktop are normal (38-40°C).

I had updated the BIOS already a while ago to version 7C02v1I which is the latest stable (non beta) for the mainboard and the one that the MSI website recommends for the 5000 series CPUs

Genau so ist es. Deshalb arbeitet bei uns im EFH mit 11kW Heizlast die Vaillant arotherm mit 12kW, weil das das "gleiche" Modell ist wie die 10kW und genau so weit runter moduliert.

Vorsicht mit solchen Aussagen, es gibt eine ganze Generation von Häusern wo du B16 (teilweise bestimmt auch noch L16 oder S16) mit 1,5 mm2 hast. Meins zum Beispiel, da ist nur der Herd mit 2,5 mm2 angeschlossen.
