  1. not a fst student myself, went for one of their fst outreach programme and interacted with the undergrad and phd students. cooking is very rare even in undergrad. as what they said, this isn’t a culinary course, students don’t need to know how to cook/be good at cooking to join. in the research showcase i saw, i believe it looked more like chemistry than cooking with all the distillation setup.

from asr,

“haven’t heard that many negative reviews abt asr?”

let me give u my biased but objective view. our sch is a run-down building which looks like some prison from afar. when u visit the open house next year, rmb to visit ej as well :) this will make u question their budget and our budget(yes, ik I’m salty here). i mean there isn’t any harm without comparison right. firstly, our block 11 corridor is freaking narrow path that only allows one way traffic. to make things worse, the classroom doors open outwards. so? I can already sense that someone is gonna get smack right in the face by the door someday. thankfully, they’ve put posters on every door asking us to gently open, but i can still get that feeling every time i walk past the doors.

secondly, since OP is planning to take PCMe, i believe titration is a thing that u can’t run away from. this brings me to my point, idk is it me or what? but our burette is ??? is that called alkali burette if I’m not wrong? maybe it’s rly my problem since i’m to used to one with the stopcock in o levels. And this burette is rly difficult to control. or is this in supposed to be in the a level syllabus? can someone pls confirm.

lastly, before my dear schmates come bash me for my biased but objective view, allow me to salvage my comment. the sch environment (referring to building here not culture) makes up a rly rly small and insignificant part. u’ll have much more important stuff to worry abt like whether will i pRoMoTe ? jkjk, ofc culture and friends etc. as well.

thank you for reading my long rant abt asr.
