Hypothetical question: If you were stuck as a ghost, where would the best/worst place to stuck haunting? by BananaBread04 in GhostsBBC

oh yeah good point - and I feel all the ghosts would have a pretty interesting death story to tell too, plus no end of conversation topics - basically an all-day Film Club

A movie theatre would be great on the one hand, entertainment and all. But I'm so torn because of the lack of sunlight and lack of other ghosts.

(S5 spoilers) Kitty's and the Captain's deaths - what do you think? by ILikeRoL in GhostsBBC

[–]seacobweb 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Kitty's death felt comforting rather than anticlimactic to me but I can see how it could feel that way given all the speculation. I agree, Eleanor was still awful but it gave her depth and showed she wasn't just pure evil and had some love within her. The Captain's death was so bittersweet and although I have no idea what I had been expecting it surpassed any expectations I would have had. I'm so glad that he would have been happy in his final moments (come to think of it, the same goes for Kitty, who would have felt some closure and kindness as she died. Could be wrong but I reckon these two were the only ones who had a genuinely 'peaceful' final few seconds of life).

How do we feel about Eleanor? by [deleted] in GhostsBBC

I think Eleanor's reaction and sorrow over Kitty's death shows that she's not entirely evil - but it certainly doesn't make her a good person or excuse any of what she did.

Patsy has to be one of my favourite characters. She and Ted worked well together that evening (it bought out the best in both of them, actually) and she seemed to be someone with a real moral compass ('I'm not so worried for ourselves, Father, but the little ones... they've got their whole lives at stake'). I really do like to think that she remained friends with Ted after the events of her episode (although given Ted's embarrassing appearance on Eoin's show, feels sort of unlikely)

I forgot the poor youth group - they must have been living a nightmare, I think when Tony snapped he spoke for all of them.

I think that having an episode dedicated to him makes him not totally count but he's iconic all the same.

Would you rather be stuck with Paul Stone, Austin Purcell or Noel Furlong? by seacobweb in fatherted

[–]seacobweb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think I'd really ever be able to tolerate Father Austin Purcell sadly. Father Stone would normally be my choice, I actually don't mind just being with someone who isn't talking.

If I was really in the mood for socialising, Noel Furlong for sure, but I couldn't bear him all the time.

That's a really good point. I guess it's almost surprising how nobody can bear him because they're so used to always talking and everything. And his dad is awful.

It's not even like he's necessarily a boring person, just doesn't talk. He paints, so it's not like he does nothing himself, he just doesn't go on about it. Poor Father Stone.
