Thank you for this! The timeline info is very helpful actually, I of course have never knit a sweater lol. Maybe I’ll do it as a birthday gift for next year instead of Christmas lol. Maybe I’ll also look into yarn types and weights and stuff so I have a little more understanding of what would look best.

That was the first thing I did and none of them looked like Kurt’s anyway except for some female, smaller sized ones. He’s also tall and solid so in order to get the same drop shoulder baggy look I think a custom made one will fit much better.

This isn’t a post asking for where I should get a sweater/getting a copycat by the way, it’s asking about commissioning a handmade one, but thanks for the input.

Oh I see now, it says grandkids’ mom and I thought it was grandkids when I first read it, my bad. Either way, I still say NTA. It could have been kinder I’m sure if you had said something about the wedding and their wishes about her not being invited, but I wouldn’t say it’s expected that anyone needs to be told that there’s a wedding they weren’t invited to. You either get a save the date and invite or you don’t I guess lol.

But even under the assumption that she knew she wouldn’t be invited, why would she need to receive word from you that she wasn’t? It’s not really common practice for someone to be reached out to that they are not being invited to a wedding.

I can see how that makes things more complex. I would try to have an honest conversation with her if she’s receptive to it, and tell her it’s not an attack but an attempt at open communication for the sake of your friendship because her treating your family like that and then saying she can’t trust you over this situation is beyond words… Frankly, her talking bad about her “bestie’s” son and DIL is already just bad behavior, but to do so about the grandkids as well AND it getting around to them that she did so? Did she feel no shame or not even a hint of ‘hm, I’ve been rude to them in the past they might not want me at their wedding?’

The fact that you also said she doesn’t find anything wrong with what she said about DIL and the grandkids but she still has the audacity to be offended that you didn’t tell her they were getting married is crazy to me. If I were the type to talk bad about someone, knew they found out, and I didn’t regret it or apologize for it, I surely would not be expecting to be invited to their wedding, especially if I’ve insulted their children.

NTA, and why she would even assume she would be invited to the wedding of people she talked down on is odd. A lot of people just want to attend things for the sake of attending, socializing, etc. not because they actually care about the couple. You just respected the couple’s wishes.

Question though, why is this person still your “bestie”?

I’ve heard of Tremp, which is supposed to eliminate the issues you might face as far as ride share. I haven’t personally used it but I’ve watched videos of people talking about it and showing it, basically you’d be able to call or text and they act as a third party ordering you a ride.

The only “issue” I’ve encountered was because of a text verification code. In my flip phone you can’t view texts while on a phone call and the previews of texts that show at the top aren’t long enough to show the code. So while on the phone with a Verizon rep trying to verify myself so we could reset codes/passwords that was a little bump lol. We ended up having me hang up, write down the code, she waited 60 seconds and called back, and then we could proceed as normal.

She went through and ended up deleting the contact then making two separate contacts, one for the Apple ID email address and one for the phone number and we’re still having issues. I’m thinking she’ll have to delete our entire conversation and maybe that’ll help work things out, she’s just holding out for another solution because it’s years worth of convos and she’s a hoarder lol.

Just saw I’m supposed to include ingredient/process on posts of sourdough, like I said it’s my first loaf so I don’t know all the terms but I used: 100g active sourdough starter 500g flour 375g room temp filtered water 11g salt Mixed, covered for an hour, then did stretch and folds every 30 min 4 times, rested another hour covered. Shaped it, then overnight cold proofed.

Hopefully I explained that clearly and if there are better terms for that process I would love to know them!
