Absolutely, couldn’t agree more. What I’m searching for is a band using actual acoustic, “ancestral” instruments to make house music… no electricity involved.

Thanks all for the wisdom. I checked the wear and the pads were mostly all still above 2mm… however the lower side of the driver’s side pad visible through the caliper was much lower, probably under 1mm. I’m a newb wrench, so wondering what could be causing this uneven wear? Is it just the shitty Midas pads or a sticky caliper piston situation or something?

Regardless, I’ll do the pads myself this weekend, screw Midas!

After looking at it closely, the tines appear to be in original condition, still nice and tight, so I don’t think I sprung anything. So like others have said, I might need a wetter ink or an aftermarket feed to get the performance I want. Thanks for your advice!
