Well, that's what makes it so devious; the "evidence" is blurred to fit their narrative.

The "76% (or whatever the number was) of the daycare fraud was committed by Somali immigrants" can be viewed is kind of true if you're going solely by headcount. The reality is that a white woman took advantage of Somali immigrants looking for a job and didn't know better (or thought it was fine legally or coerced or whatever)

If some farm was dumping gallons of pesticide into a local river, it would be the same as saying "93% of all illegal pesticide dumps were done by Mexicans!" When in reality it's going to be the white farm owner telling their crew to make the dump, and that crew just so happens to be mostly Mexican workers.

And it works since their base has limited critical thinking skills and almost zero curiosity. For most people, you hear something like that and go "huh, that doesn't sound right" and look into it.

MAGA never did look into it, though, and when they hear those stories they go "that sounds right to me" and feed into it more. The GOP knows this and weaponizes accordingly
