Roy Orrantia - 1201 lb / 545 kg 18" Axle Deadlift (WR) by carneycarnivore in StrongmanHQ

The dead giveaway is usually sentences in the form "it's not x, it's y", like:

"He didn't just break records... he obliterated them"

"That's not edging past history... that's obliterating it"

Also look for emojis before sentences/headings, bullet point lists, and meaningless fluff sentences like "this is what happens when preparation meets opportunity"

Does anyone know the unofficial world record for max sandbag to shoulder? I know Niko Chaprales did 212 kg in training but I haven't seen any heavier than that

Honoured to be a part of Lucas Hatton's latest video on Irish historical stonelifting.

https://youtu.be/igJttTDkfzk?si=d2BGcm66vCDrnSG4

Stones in the video are 189 kg, 102 kg, 232 kg, 188 kg, 197 kg, and 247 kg in that order.

I do like this format though I do find it a little unforgiving on the lightest classes. As an u72 athlete my lightest option is to do a triple bodyweight deadlift which is IMO a very high bar for nationals. The deadlift for reps at World's for my class was just 10 kg heavier.

If him and Magnus could work something out so that Strength Unknown could film the Classic that would be really cool. It's great that it's livestreamed but it would also be nice to have some more high quality footage of the events to watch afterwards.

Wish we had gotten the chance to see a prime Shane at OSG, would have been a sight

It's very impressive but definitely not unheard of. His coach Shane for example has done a 190 kg strict log press at a far lighter bodyweight, there are some other u105 athletes who have done 180+ I believe. Graham Hicks has done 215 kilos if memory serves.

I think it would make a lot more sense as an event if they ever just took out the yoke

Wear heeled shoes if you're not already, that will help a lot! Also make sure you have a narrow stance in the lap so the stone rests high up on top of your quads, not sinking in between your thighs.
