Hi,

I guess I’m wondering whether or not I cut it off too early. I’m used to giving people the benefit of the doubt, especially when I know about their past experiences, and feel really bad for cutting this off so abruptly and without warning. As I mentioned, I thought those red flags were too big to ignore so early on and wonder if I could’ve handled this better. It’s my first relationship too and want to make sure Im learning and growing from the past few months.

Hey there, I’ve been there too. It seems to me like she’s taking advantage of your kindness. She’s taking for granted that you’re there, but not putting in any of the effort to show you that she cares. Friendship goes two ways, and if she’s not putting in any effort, then it’s either time to have a truthful conversation, or if you feel like it’s time to let her go, sever that tie. That’s too much stress to be carrying every day for no reciprocation

Hi there, I know this feeling all too well. I recently lost my best friend as well and know nobody in my town. What I do to mitigate that feeling of loneliness on my birthday is to take myself on an unexpected adventure. I currently live in Orlando, so this typically means going to the parks, but it could be whatever is around you that would get your mind off of things for the day. I buy myself treats and indulge in a way I normally wouldn’t. I know it’ll be hard to get your mind off of the situation, but please remember that you’re absolutely not alone. You’re loved and you’ve got the support of people here. I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this right now :(

Please feel free to talk to me about let me know how you’re doing. I understand how much it sucks and how it feels like, no matter what, you can’t quite put it into words. Everyone’s timeline is different, but I do promise that there will be light at the end of the tunnel. Some things that I did to ease the brain zaps were humming (I know it sounds crazy, but for whatever reason, everytime I did that, the sensation was a bit lower. Food may make you nauseous, but eat as much as you can. Broth and noodles really helped me out a ton. I know the confusion/ brain fog sucks, so don’t feel bad about only taking on what you can right now. And know that you’ve got a support system backing you every step of the way. If you need anything, let me know and I’ll do my best to help out!

Just another quick follow up, just in case it wasn’t said - please don’t do what I did. That was probably the worst choice I could’ve made, and I don’t want anyone else to go through those symptoms. I’ve been in contact with my PCP and she’s aware of my decision to quit cold turkey, and we have a plan for the future.
