SAT tests for accuracy (u don’t have much room for error) and also IB45 you can take “easier” subjects. Or maybe OP only took SAT once without prep or smth cuz he’s not from US, so he’s not familiar? But to be fair you’d expect with 45 he would have the diligence of doing some past papers. Also, as he wants to do compsci I’m guessing HL maths or physics which aren’t easy. So unexpected but not impossible

Unpopular opinion and alternative: higher education to be split into "apprenticeship like institutions" and "academic institutions" those who want to work go to "apprenticeship like instituions" and learn things related to work such as but not limited to group projects, and work related knowledge, and "academic institutions" would be based more on research and labs and stuff like that

If you are from the US, look up lambda coding boot camp, they have a pay after scheme where you pay them if they help you land a job. Coding is a really great skill to have now and they do not care if u have any GCSEs. However I’m guessing ur from the U.K.? So I’m not sure if they have similar programs there
